My 10 year od bichon, had a bad reaction to commercial dog food over two years ago. She had trembled constantly, was listless and without any vitality. She had a violent reaction from a traditional veterinarian who had prescribed antibiotics for what he had determined was her problem (tooth tartar). After just one pill, she began to vomit a white foamy substance, that I couldn't understand (neither did the vet). He then prescribed a different antibiotic and the vomiting increased after just two more pills. She was violently ill. Frustrated, I drove from Oregon to Los Angeles to find a veterinarian that would not poison her with toxic drugs. Dr. Bittain determined that she did not have kidney damage or a heart problem and prescribed Chinese herbs, vitamins, and herbs that would remove the toxins from her system. He also told me to increase her diet with more meat (which I had not given her, only eggs and carrots) and 25% real vegetables, and to stay away from commercial foods. After a month, her vomiting did not seem to improve. I called Dr. Bittain and he told me to continue her treatment. He had told me that he felt she was undernourished so I continued to feed her as he suggested. She had an incredible appetite. She absolutely loved the chicken and turkey and carrots and spinach. But she was still vomiting up white foam and her food. I then stopped all herbs and just fed her what he had recommended and the vomiting began to subside and then just stopped. I was thrilled. Now, she is like a puppy, with energy and vitality running and playing like she used to. I am so incredibly grateful for Dr. Bittain. The herbs must have worked. The expense was worth it and I only wish I had a holistic vet near my home in southern Oregon. From thinking her life was over to having my best friend back is priceless. Thank you Dr. Bittain,Thank you!!!
