I'm going to keep this nice and simple, NO ONE should EVER bring their pets here! Long story short had to pay another vet for my dog to get better because they did a really crappy job neutering my dog! My dog didn't lick him self or anything for it to happen until I took him to another vet and they told me "Who ever did the neutering surgery did a very poor job at it" For the love of god! I you love your pet don't take it here!
Dr. Warren was a good vet. I brought my cat to the new guy, and he nearly killed the animal with the wrong insulin. Then he refused to cover the emergency visit that was necessary to save the cat's life. Avoid at all costs.
This vet is used by the North Central shelter. They neutered the dog that I adopted from the north central shelter, and when I picked him up they told me that the incision area was a little red so I might want to consult my regular veterinarian about the optional antibiotics. I made an appointment with my vet and was lucky to get in same day. As it turns out the incision area for the surgery looked fine. However, my dog had hemorrhaged into his scrotum, was so bruised from the surgery he was physically incapable of sitting, and his condition put him at a very high risk for infection. They at no point bothered to place a cone on him, give him pain medication, or do anything to help his condition. Had I not taken him to my vet same day their negligence could have been fatal. I've spent hundreds(and this is just the beginning) getting my wonderful dog better, and will do my best to help prevent another animal from going through what my poor dog is going through now.
The staff at Warren Animal Hospital may not greet you with a foot massage and chocolates, but if you're looking for a no nonsense vet at resonable costs, this is the hospital for you. My dogs have seen no one but Dr. Martin, and although he won't hold your hand and blow sunshine up your skirt, he also won't charge you money that is unnecessary or recommend b/s tests just to push your credit card limit. Dr. Martin cares, and he's EXCELLENT at what he does. This man knows his medicine. If you want someone to hold your hand, don't go to see Dr. Martin... if you want someone to treat your animal with care and compassion.. Dr. Martin, in my humble opinion, is the best in LA.
We recently adopted a rabbit from the North Central shelter. This vet gave us amoxicillin to give to our rabbit 1 ML twice a day, and we later learned that amoxicillin is not recommended for rabbits and can even be fatal! luckily we only gave one dose. Also assured us that rabbit was male, gave us certificate of castration and said there were no stitches. We took this rabbit to another vet by our house. Turns out, this rabbit is a girl, and had metal stitches that they never told us about (and would have been left inside her had we not taken her to another vet!!) Do not take your animal to this vet! Terrible!
