Excellent Clinic. I wouldnt take my Star anywhere else! They are loving, and caring, and very good at what they do.
I got a new puppy and brought her here to be checked to ensure she was healthy before bringing her home. This vet hospital was much cheaper than the one I take my other dog to, so I figured I would give it a try. After waiting for a while for the vet to come in, she finally checked out the pup. I am being completely literal when I say that the vet looked at her for less than two minutes. She didn't even check her temperature. The next day, the puppy was scooting her bottom so I figured I should take her to my usual vet. The vet took one look at her and immediately noticed her ears were red and that she needed medication. She also had to prescribe medicine for tapeworms and Coccidia after requesting a stool sample (which seems to me what most vets should do). Anyway, although they are cheap, I would NEVER take my puppy back again and definitely do not recommend this place.
I drive a semi tractor trailer and was just passing through. When I stopped in Ripon, my poor co-pilot, a corgi-sheltie mix, fell out of the truck and landed on her head. It's a long fall and she was clearly in pain so I brought her here. They gave me an appointment quickly and, for the first time ever, my dog, Zoe, didn't shake when we walked through the door of a veterinary clinic. In minutes, my shy dog fell in love with the vet tech and let her and the doctor do whatever they wanted. The exam was thorough and the staff didn't make me feel any more guilty about the accident or try to sell me unnecessary services. The prices were reasonable and my sweet little girl is feeling much better. If I lived here, I would choose this friendly, caring clinic for all of my veterinary needs.
What can't I say about Dr Raj, where do I start.... We have been with Dr Raj for 3 years. We started seeing him for our Lab Tulee. The morning we came there we had the most horrible experience with an emergency vet in Modesto. Our dog had 6 seizures that night and almost died. They basically told me if I couldn't pay we had to go. I told them to patch her up and I would find someone in the morning. So I looked in the phone book and found central. We walked in and of course I was a swollen mess. They brought us right into a room and Dr Raj came in and gave me a great big hug and made me feel very comfortable. They took her back and made sure she was stable we picked her up the next day. He charged me an amazing price and I was so grateful. Tulee has been seizure free since the day we walked in there with the treatment he prescribed. Yesterday we brought her in for surgery on two tumors on her breasts. They took such good care of her. My family and I are struggling right now as my husband is out of work. He really helped us out with the cost. We love our pets just like our kids. The rest of the staff there are amazing also. The tech just grabbed up our 73 lb tulee and lifted her up right into our truck. She is recovering nicely and I know it is because of the care she got from Dr Raj. He is an amazing vet and human! Who has a wonderful connection with animals especially mine! :0)
There is a huge difference between being a passionate, competent veterinary doctor and being a slick salesman of health services to animal lovers. The majority of people "love their kitties and puppies" so are easy targets for the financial traps of a third rate vet. Dr. Raj x-rayed my limping collie about 6 films, prescribed an anti-inflammatory for a couple hundred bucks. But she was till sick. Months later brought her back and he X-rayed her again about half a dozen films. No diagnoses so said he'd sent the films to a radiologist and I'd get a report in 5 days. Never heard from him again despite calls and faxes that were dead ended in the front office. Finally tried to transfer X-rays to a real vet and he calls me pleading to led him X-ray my dog a third time. Foolishly I agreed and it was the same story - no diagnosis but the story that a radiologist would view the X-rays...never heard from him. When I wrote a truthful, negative review, he faxes me a photo of his computer screen. Apparently he uploads the X-rays to a veterinary website where real vets comment on what they think the film reveals. So there were several comments "maybe it’s this or that...I think it’s this...etc." Hello? Where is the radiologist's report he kept promising?! There is none. What is the diagnosis? He doesn't have one. He X-rays my dog from November 2011 to March 2012 and she's still limping in pain! I'm sorry if this review of mine is over your head. Most are just "Oh, I love my Vet" or some such. But mine is a real case of a real dog that was X-rayed three times without a definitive course of treatment. So I went to the trouble of having X-rays transferred to one of the most intellectually rigorous vets in this area. Yeah, that vet is not a short drive like Raj, but the difference was astounding! Now I have a treatment plan for her shoulder and elbow dysplasia - which is what it is. I weigh her food to slim her down 10 pounds, distilled water in her indoor dispenser to lower the calcium load of our well water, fish oil for anti-inflammatory, Dasuquin MSM for her joints/cartilage, meloxicam (NSAID) formulated for her by a pharmacy, and Adequan that I inject twice a week. Yeah - a real vet let me order prescription meds over the Internet at "best prices" then demonstrate I can properly do an injection at home. Instead of $400 in Adequan treatments it only cost me $98. THAT IS A REAL VET! The animals come first! Not posting x-rays on a website and never bothering to formulate a diagnoses/method of treatment. My collie is a pedigreed "Lassie" type who herds sheep. She's so well behaved as a Service Dog she's been to the San Francisco Zoo! She is a wonderfully sweet, obedient girl who deserved a hack of a lot more than what "Dr. Raj" had to offer. Some people are happy with mediocrity. I will never tolerate it. You may feel differently. OK.
