Having dogs my whole life I have been to so many different Animal Hospitals both on the east coast and west coast. I have never come across a place like Lido Animal Hospital before ! Firstly my lab Lana literally pulls me into the office. The staff and Dr Earl are the warmest, knowledgeable and generous people I have ever experienced in a vets office. Having a lab comes with a lot of emergency visits as they tend to get themselves in trouble ( getting Into my make up, eating something she shouldn't have, bloating, broken leg, etc. ) During each emergency visit , they had the ability to calm a very panicked mommy, while at the same time offering their medical expertise. At most vet offices you are just ushered into some small room, and as anyone knows that feeling of sitting in one of those cold rooms it could be pretty stressful. It is not like that at Lido they inform you what is going , do not keep you waiting for long periods of time and are very patient explaining the diagnostic and follow up calls as well. I cannot give enough accolades to Lido. The very best ! :) Susanne Elstein and "Lana" the Lab

The medical profession could learn a lot from Dr. Earl and his wonderful staff on the etiquette of treating patients with kindness and respect. Of course, the patients in this case are our wonderful canine and feline companions. We have a 14-year old black Lab and every time I take Molly into Lido Animal Hospital, she is greeted like a long-lost friend. The staff behind the counter and behind the scenes are welcoming and friendly, and Dr. Earl often comes out to sit on the floor with Molly. It is very heartwarming to see a vet and his staff be so committed to their profession in the basic understanding of dignity to a living creature experiencing some form of upset.

Dr. Earl and Daniel are wonderful- they take so much time getting to know our pets AND us- and were such a comfort when we had to put our lovely golden down. They made Monty's last hours very special. Along the years, I have taken my furry babies to several vets, and no one is even close to offering what this office provides. Plus, Dr. Earl now participates in the West Newport 4th of July community event, proving that he truly cares and is part of our neighborhood.

Dr. Earl and his staff are all TOP NOTCH!! From Laura and Erin in reception, to Susie, Dan and the other kid (sorry kid... I don't remember your name). Our boys have been clients of Dr. Earl from since when he was at Antonio Animal Hospital in RSM (over 7 years ago). We live in Dana Point and so we have plenty of vets to choose from. We will follow Dr. Earl anywhere! Dr. Earl and his staff all truly LOVE animals. They are not there to just collect a paycheck and leave 8 hours later. They know and understand that our pets are our fur-babies and they treat them as if they were one of their own fur-babies. I was aghast when I read the '1 star' review. This does not describe Dr. Earl, or his staff, AT ALL! When our boys get treatments, we are invited back into the exam room. When they have to describe something medically that's going on with the boys, they don't talk to us like complete idiots, nor is it so technical that we don't understand. Dr Earl's fees are reasonable and on-par with other vets in the area. I don't know what more I can say that hasn't already been said in other reviews. So, go see Dr. Earl, your pets will thank you for it.

Dr. Earl and his wonder team is very dear to my heart. I've know him and his staff for over ten years. He and his team have taken care of my beloved Great Dane babies since they have been eight weeks old. He's been there for them in good times and bad times. He's even made house calls when I couldn't get Aragon or Arowyn to him. He's always been there for them, even when it was their time to cross the rainbow bridge. Everyone in Dr. Earl's office goes above and beyond to make sure your pet receives the best treatment possible. I felt part of the Lido Animal Hospital family. I observed that whether you were a first timer or a long timer, Dr. Earl and his staff gave the same loving attention, care, and needed treatment to each dog, cat, rat, bunny, or exotic animal that reached out to him. Prior to finding Dr. Earl I had taken my beloved Jessie to a repetable vet. Jessie (our Rottweilier) had a tumor in her mouth. The doctor removed it and sent us on our way. He never told us that the tumor was cancerous. That vet never followed up. Hence a year and a half later when our Jessie was loosing weight for no apparent reason I took her back to this vet. The vet had decided to take sometime off (suto retirement) and this is when I met Dr. Earl. When reading Jessie's chart he explained that the cancer had returned. We told him we were never told the tumor was cancerous. We were outraged that the previous vet (who is now practicing again) never told us or recommended follow-up checkups. Dr. Earl handled the situation with such grace, empathy, and professionalism. He guided us through the steps of what was going to happen. He was also upfront with us and explained that when life wasn't any fun for Jessie anymore, then that would be the time to let her go. Unfortunately that time came sooner rather than later, but Dr. Earl was there to make sure her passing went smoothly and comfortably for her, as well as for us. Since then, we've used Dr. Earl exculsively for the treatment and wellbeing of our four legged babies. Each animal is different. Some are blessed with good health, some are more delicate, and some are just born with medical issues. Dr. Earl is an expert in his field, but when something comes up outside of his field of expertice he knows the best of the best doctors to send your precious pet too, so that they receive the best medical treatment possible. In short, the only person I'd trust for my four legged babies is Dr. Earl.
