We used to be able to afford Dr Nemetz's services but can no longer so we use a more inexperienced vet and hope for the best for all our birds. I personally believe that Dr Nemetz is one of the best in the country. All though I don't like what he charges, I'm not privy to his expenses so I really cant fault him for his rates. I know that he is extremely dedicated to doing everything he can for any bird brought in there. We lost our blue front amazon about 6 years ago to a fungus condition and I know how much Dr Nemetz went out of his way to try and save him. I willl always be grateful!

horrible horrible and more horrible. Dr. Nemetz is the worst Veterinarian i came across. he actually killed my beautiful bird. he does not know anything about Avian medicine or even how to handle my bird. i hate this dr, and his place which is very filthy . i took my parakeet bird last week and $350 later, i went home with a dead bird. he gave me medications that does not even work and when i looked it up in my medicine book, it was not suppose to be for birds at all. i really do not know where he learned his medicine. he should be to medical school and learn all over how to handle and treat birds. his staff are very nasty, have no customer service skills AT ALL they made me wait with a sick bird for almost an hour while they are chatting with each other about other patients and their problems. the clinic looks really run down, dirty and full of feather on the floor. very expensive and it sure very obvious, it is all about the money for this Dr and his clinic i highly discourage anyone to go there, he will rip you off and pretends that he is knowledgable for bird medicine and exotics. i hate this place and the clinic in general . it was a mistake and never again...

I am giving Dr Nemetz five stars because simply put he is the best that is out there. I am in the veterinary community and know many "avian vets" or vets who THINK they can treat birds and NONE of them can hold a candle to Dr. Nemetz and his extensive knowledge. This man CREATES surgeries (literally invents procedures) that save lives. Very few in the world do this and thank God Dr. Nemetz is just 40 minutes away from us. I know people who travel from other states for his expertise and honestly I would too! Yes, he does not come cheap and there is a premium when it comes to providing the type of care he is able to provide ( but remember, very few people in the world can do what he does with respect to avian medicine). Please do you and most importantly your feathered family member a favor and bring them to see Dr Nemetz, this man is the Superman of Avian Medicine and he can create miracles! He has saved my parrots life several times and I know for a fact no one else would have been able to do this. I agree that his bedside manner isn't the best and I can see how some people may not like his attitude but I go there to have my sick birds made well (which is not an easy thing to do in itself PERIOD), not to have someone hold my hand and sugar coat things for me. Thank you Dr Nemetz for all that you have done and continue to do.

Dr. Nemetz has SAVED two of my five birds on more than one occasion... Frankly I would NOT take my parrots anywhere else! This man is gifted beyond words. He thinks outside the box and treated all my birds like they were his own. He stays late to treat them working into morning hours after he closes. Highly recommend this avian vet if you are seeking top quality care. I wouldn't trust a cock roach with these other vets who claim "they treat birds" do yourself and YOUR BIRD a huge favor and call him.. You will not be disappointed. Why would you even take your BIRD to a vet that treats dogs and cats. This man is Skilled in the latest in avian medicine. Dr. Nemetz is AMAZING.. His office is clean, and friendly with the upmost in modern equipment. Don't take your bird anywhere else..

Our experience with Dr. Larry Nemetz was nothing short of traumatic. We brought our bird in for feather picking after something he swallowed. After numerous visits, a minor procedure and then surgery we are not only out over $4000 but my beautiful bird is still sick. We are now going to a different vet to find answers and to be treated with some respect and compassion. His prices are higher than any other vet. We went to him because we researched to find the best care for our bird, money was not an issue. I have never been treated with such disregard and disrespect.He actually SCREAMED at me over the phone about a bird that was more important than mine because he had cancer. His supercilious attitude leaves you feeling more depressed and upset than when you first went to his clinic for help. Although I have an extensive vocabulary, to truly convey how horrible our experience was with this doctor is virtually impossible. Pellets are not recommended for our breed of bird, even dangerous for our bird Dr. Nemetz! I don't care where you live....Go to Dr. Attila Molnar in Calabasas. Stellar care, concern and reasonable prices. Please take the time to learn about your specific breed and what they need. We put them in cage, we owe it to them to provide a proper environment, care and diet.
