Dr. Thornburg is a very caring Doctor. If she saw humans I would go to her. She's been our vet for over a year.

Unlike the other reviewers, I have no problem with the Optimum Wellness Plans. I've had the plan for my dog for 6 years, and have no complaints, and recommend them to everyone. This has come in handy particularly this year, when my pup has had two emergencies that would have cost thousands, but were very cheap since they were able to combine his emergency needs with things covered by the plan. For instance, he needed anesthesia for surgery on his ear, but he has that covered under his annual dental cleaning. Banfield just did both, saving me the extra cost of anesthesia. Anyway, I was never "sold" the Wellness Plan, just picked up a brochure in PetSmart one day and called and asked all my questions. That being said, I am not at all impressed with this Banfield. Their prices for services are higher than the Ventura Banfield, which is a much cleaner and more professional facility. The vets seem rushed and overworked, as another reviewer said. If I had questions, I was passed off to an assistant. This is the only Banfield that I have ever felt uncomfortable trusting my pet too. So, 5 stars for the Wellness Plan, but 1 star for the facility. Go to the Ventura Banfield Pet Hospital. (Check their reviews, you'll see.)

How can 3 basic shots cost $85 AND they want to charge $45 for an office visit as well. Plus, I have never heard a dog scream the way this dog did. I have known pet owners that bought their package and spent tons of money. Later when the dogs changed ownership, my vet said, these guys have been vaccinated for everything, even Lyme Disease. They were over-vaccinated. This is clearly a money-based enterprise despite all the foundation publicity.
