Avoid this place at all cost !! A friend took his dog there for teeth cleaning. They mislabeled the cage and cut the stomach open to spay the (already spayed) dog. All they offered to him is free teeth cleaning in the future! Very unprofessional and neglecting the pets their work with.
My precious long hair Chihuahua Cookie was terrified of strangers and vets and doctors and for the 9 years of his life we were not able to find a vet where we all felt comfortable. Cookie's heart started failing in December 2008, we finally found this vet and they were so good with him. He wasn't scared of the doctors, they treated us with respect and care. Called daily to check up on Cookie and how the pills were working for him. Unfortunately after doing everything we possibly could for our baby, we couldn't save him. We had to let the love our of our lives go, and the Doctor couldn't have been more supporting and more caring. I know that if it was possible, they would have done everything to save my angel. Unfortunately with a failing heart, there's not much anyone can do, even for people. We now have a new Chihuahua pup and are looking forward to taking him to Sharp Park Animal Hospital, because we know that he will be well taken care of! Thank you SPAH!
Three years ago I heard about the ‘new Vets in town’ from a good friend. She raved about how nice they were and the attention they paid to her dog. After listening to how happy she was I decided to make an appointment to meet with them to see if they might better meet my needs as well. I was so impressed with my meeting with Dr Tabai that I immediately had my dogs records transferred to their practice. Later this would turn out to be one of the best decisions of my life. Six months later, my precious little girl, Shoshona, Bloated (Gastric Dilation and Volvulus), a life threatening emergency condition which requires immediate surgery. We arrived at the Vets just prior to opening. The Vet Tech arrived, got the necessary information from me and was on the phone with the doctor. Within minutes the Vets had arrived and X-rays were being taken. Within 20 minutes of our arrival my little girl was in surgery. Thanks to the experience and skills of these wonderful doctors my little girl is alive and doing well. I always like to talk to other owners there with their pets while waiting for our appointments. Its amazing how many feel good stories I’ve heard about how the doctors have gone that extra mile to help a client and their pets. Their new state of the art building is beautiful. The waiting room is spacious and well planned. There is plenty of room for clients and their pets. I’ll never forget Dr Nia’s excitement when she spoke of the new building and how they would have room now for people to spend time alone and be comfortable while visiting their ill pets. This is something they were short on at their prior location and I think it speaks volumes of Dr. Nia’s dedication not only to the pets but their caregivers as well. Their support staff are professional and a pleasure to deal with. As the Mom to three German Shepherds I want only the best for them. By choosing Oceana Pet Hopital I know I have succeeded in giving them the best medical care the Bay Area has to offer. Great job everyone!
Easily the best pet hospital in the area!! What an amazing staff, and such knowledgable doctors. I am so glad I switched over from my previous pet hospital. My cocker spaniel, Nina, was hit by a car about two weeks ago. I took her in to another (let's leave it unnamed) hospital in the area in a state of panic, and had to wait over an hour for her to be seen and was slapped with an insanely large bill! Well, no thank you. I rushed over to Oceana Pet, very upset because Nina was clearly in pain. The staff was immediately alert and helpful and Nina was taken back into the treatment room within a few minutes. Dr. Nia was very attentive and helpful. We took some x-rays and luckily, Nina had no broken bones, just a sprained leg. They gave us some medications and gave Nina a pain injection. We were out of the door within an hour. The staff clearly cares about every patient they see. I received a follow-up call not too long after, which I really appreciated, because I was having some difficulty giving Nina her pain meds. They gave me instructions on how to do it, and I ended up going in to get a device to help put the pills in Nina's mouth. Overall, just a great experience. I feel so lucky to have found such a great hospital. I know that Nina and my two other puppy dogs are in good hands!
I had an AMAZING experience with Oceana Pet Hospital. My cat was very lethargic, totally acting strangely, and I was very worried. I got a same-day appointment I was very pleased with the staff, cleanliness, and service. They explained everything and gave me a quote before they performed any tests. They let me take the meds home and give them to my cat myself instead of costing me an arm and a leg for overnight care. And the best part? My cat was better within 12 hours after an IV drip and some meds. Dr. Nia called me herself, the next day to check on my cat and make sure we didn't need anything else. Hopefully I won't need a vet again any time soon, but if I do I will definitely be going back!
