I would give this pet hospital and the vets there six stars if I could. They are extremely friendly and helpful. Loved walking in and seeing my pet's name written in colored chalk under the day's visitors board. My vet was Dr. Cutler: extremely knowledgeable and efficient and laughs easily when you make a joke. So glad I found them: my dog is my best friend and I am paranoid about leaving him anywhere that I don't trust the staff 100%. I found my dog in the street run over and dying. He spent three weeks at a vet before I brought him home. (His owner did not want to pay the vet bill and no longer wanted him.) Consequently, he shakes like a leaf when he gets in a vet's office. However, at VCA everyone was so friendly and outgoing that my dog got totally spoiled with all the treats he got from everyone and seemed to have a good time. So happy I found this place.

Dr Derringer has been treating all of our dogs and cats for over 12 years at VCA. The facility is always clean and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I almost never have to wait more than a few minutes of my appointment time. Unfortunately I have had to put down 4 pets in all these years and the staff have always been caring and sympathetic during those hard times. We and our "kids" appreciate the care we get at VCA.

I AGREE with all the other one stars. IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, DON'T TAKE IT HERE. I wanted to make sure they were the right Vet to spay my female, which they wanted $500, and they wanted to give my dog the WRONG heartworm meds. I questioned them 3 times, and they said, this is what we've been giving this breed for years. I said, don't you know that can KILL them? The doctor left and came back in with the pharmacy tech and said, well, you're right so this is what we recommend. I thought, how many dogs have YOU KILLED over the years? AND she traumatized my dog when she gave her the shot; she kept jamming it in her neck in a stabbing motion and she was screaming! At animal samaritans, she didn't even know she got a shot! Since then, all I've heard are horror stories about this clinic. By the way, the spay at AS was only $75 and they treated her great. You can't even see the incision scar. BTW, that's the national average charge. At VCA, you DON'T get what you pay for. Animal Samaritans are the BEST!

have been seeing Dr Kunz for over 30 years. He's been great. My dog hurt his leg playing with his sister. He did not walk on the leg for 2 days but would stand on it while eating or going to the bathroom. nevertheless i went to VCA Desert Animal Hospital and ALISON KOODRICH, DVM entered the examination room with barely an hello to me or my dog. I told her the issue and before she even put a hand on my dog ALISON was already talking SURGERY to repair such an injury and it could cost over a thousand dollars!!!!!!!! I said, Surgery????? how do you know at this point? Then she said exrays were needed (cost approx $300). I suggested that since my dog was able to stand on it occasionally and he allowed us to move it without showing discomfort - I asked if ALISON could prescribe an Anti-inflammatory mild pain pill. She was not pleased and rolled her eyes on my request. Then I gave her the list of meds sold at Walmart where the price for the pills were $4.00 and not the $36 from ALISON. ALISON said they will give me a costs invoice before I make a decision to get blood test, ex-rays and surgery. Needless to say, after I got these costs ALISON NEVER RETURNED TO THE ROOM to answer any additional questions or concerns. SHE WAS ONLY INTERESTED IN THE MONEY TO BE MADE AND CLEARLY NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF MY DOG AT ALL. I WAS TOTALLY OFFENDED ! THIS FACILITY IS LARGE AND ALL ABOUT PAYING THEIR OVERHEAD AND NOT WHAT IS BEST FOR YOUR PETS. BEWARE !
