I recently moved to Magalia, from Prescott Arizona. I brought my pit bull (super sweet and well-behaved), Hanna, twice and both experiences have been unpleasant...more than unpleasant, at your Paradise location. The first time we came in, it was to update Hanna on her shots. She'd never been there before and she proceeded to sniff around the waiting area. She was fine. Then, once in the exam room, Dr Granger, apparently felt she had to have Hanna on the table. She actually looked at me and asked me to assist her in picking Hanna up to put her on the table. Although I was more than weirded out by the idea (as it was a first), my response to her was that I had a bad back and couldn't pick Hanna up....which is true. So, she left the exam room to find a technician for help. They came back in, lifted Hanna up onto the table and couldn't figure out why she was trembling so hard and at such a high frequency...followed by some anal gland leakage. Why would you need to pick a pit bull up and have her on a table? The vets we had been to, in the past, have squatted and come down to Hanna...making it easier on everyone. Hanna never had the secretion issue and I had never seen her tremble so much, ever. We completed the visit and left. I walked her around for a bit, outside, and she was still trembling...but the trembling subsided eventually, that evening. On October 2nd, I brought Hanna back for her booster shot. We were a few minutes early but waited patiently. A couple of cats were carried out and a dog was walked out and Hanna didn't budge or bark. She is a well-behaved dog...very obvious to anyone paying attention. Because of her experience the last time we were there, Hanna started shaking again. She was sitting on the floor, between my legs, just trembling...and still behaving. She didn't feel much like walking around, sniffing, etc... as she did the last time. She was still trembling and my back was hurting so I called her up onto the bench with me, so as to help her relax and help me to comfort her better. She lay there and was fine. Then, some woman on your staff came over with a rectangular shaped rug, lay it down on the floor and told me that my dog (and referred to Hanna as "he" and "him") couldn't be on the bench. She proceeded to tell me what nervous dogs can have an accident and it was preferred that she lay on the floor, on the rug. First of all, she wouldn't be as nervous and trembling so much had your "Veterinarian Doctor" treated her with better care and more respect the first time. Second of all, I was comforting her and to the best of my ability, given the situation....previous experience and my back pains. Lastly, it's a veterinarian hospital...I don't know how many accidents you encounter on a daily basis but...maybe that's a sign of the crappy service provided by your clinic. Also, what kind of veterinarian clinic is more caring and compassionate about their furniture than their clients?? If you're worried about accidents occurring on your bench, then perhaps you shouldn't have a cushion on it. What if a child had an accident on it? Do you lay out rugs, on the floor, for children?? There are soooo many things unbelievably wrong with your clinic and the way it's run and I can only touch on a few things here, in this email. We left. I wasn't about to put my dog...my baby...through that kind of hell. I truly hope, in the near future, that you look into changing the way your run your lil hospital. Otherwise, I can only imagine how much longer you'll be in business. Word spreads fast. The customer service and concern for the pets at your clinic are the worst that I've seen yet. I wasted a lot of time and money just driving over there for that abuse. Good luck to you, your unkind and inappropriate staff Lisa L. PS While you're at it, you should definitely change your sayings, motives and such on your website. I don't appreciate being lied to.
We have been going to Colyer Vet Service since we moved up here from Fresno 6 years and we are very happy that we picked them. The whole office staff is great and very professional to us but more important they handle our pets nicely. It has now been over 7 Years and they are great. The have a Play Area in back called Maple Park for their customers. We love taking Tessa and Murphy there. They now enjoy going to the Vet!
