We have been taking our dog to Companions for approximately 3 years now and in that time they have dealt with several issues that were age related. Because of their knowledge and compassion, our dog lived longer and better than what we thought was possible given the medical conditions she had. Dr. Duffy was our dogs normal vet-she is professional yet really loves animals... she made appointments easier on our dog than any other vet that she had in her 15 years of life. In the last few weeks, it became clear that our dogs quality of life was suffering. We made the difficult decision to have her put to sleep. The appointment went as smooth as it possibly could have. We saw Dr. Caruso on a few occasions over the years and she is the one that ended up putting our dog to sleep. It was a relief to have a vet who didn't care how many biscuits our dog ate while she was shaving her arm and administering the medicine...as long as our dog was comfortable and stress free, that was all that mattered. Our dog, who was very food driven up to her last day, went to sleep with biscuits in her mouth. We couldn't recommend Companions any more highly. The staff have been helpful over the years-making sure medications could be filled at the drop of a hat and appointments were scheduled quickly and conveniently. Both Drs. Duffy and Caruso have great bedside manner, on top of wisdom as to the best route to take with strange health problems of an animal that can't communicate what they are feeling. We can't thank them enough for the care they provided for our dog, especially in the hardest years of her life!
