It was awesome! All of the animals were friendly and rarely tried to hurt you. The staff and volunteers are wonderful. Two thumbs up!!!👍👍
The staff needs to take etiquette lessons from their grounds keepers. The grounds keepers at least were nice when I walked in but not the staff. I've been here 3x and each time the staff members have given me this cold and hard stare. They behave as if some secret is going on in there and everyone is else an outside threat. It's creepy. At best they come off like police officers giving you a ticket, and that's on one of their good days. Moreover, while they offer no community education, do no community outreach, and are rude to clients, they blame individuals for not getting their animals fixed before having a litter. I've never once seen them out in shopping malls or parks telling people to the spay or neuter pets at their organization. Yet if you call and tell them your pet had a litter they will rip into to you. In this way they are a lot like the CCSPCA--doing zero community education and blaming the individual citizens for their lack of knowledge. Then they blame people for moving to places that don't allow pets. Sure, that's a bad thing. But Cat House on the Kings has never been out there encouraging property management companies to change their polices. I understand that they can't do everything but they've got some nerve blaming an average individual for things they themselves don't publicly address or even attempt to influence.
Took a tour as I was ending a trip to Central CA. and this place left me feeling like there are still wonderful and caring people in the world. I loved seeing cats free to roam, happy, and very friendly! I was able to view the Kitten room, some puppies and even got to see free roaming peacocks!! They do worderful work here, and I was happy to leave a donation and buy some tshirts and books. The staff is very friendly and well-informed. I wish there were more shelters like this!!
