Drs. Shufer and Henderson and the entire staff are awesome! Their care, treatments and follow up are the best that I have ever experienced. I highly recommend Alta Rancho Pet and Bird Hospital to anyone who wants their pets (and their owners!) in the hands of people who care and who provide the best services available!

First, the ease of making an appointment and the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff was exceptional. I e-mailed my preferences and they contacted me immediately. My cat Ruby was treated with care and kindness. Dr. Shufer checked her out thoroughly , listened to my concerns and tested Ruby accordingly - not pushing anything on me - and then made some recommendations about changing our type of litter and getting a humidifier. Sadly, I picked up the ashes of our 21 year old kitty who had lived happily a long life under Dr. Shufer's care. I had waited a year to retrieve them, but again the staff was understanding and empathetic. I highly recommend Alta Rancho Pet Hospital. While I was there, many pet owners were telling me how happy they were also.

They have two dedicated, competent caring vets who really care for your pet. The staff is also knowledgeable and helpful. They have successfully treated our dogs for allergies, heart conditions, blocked colon (surgery) and old age complications. We have been taking our dogs to them for 14 years and wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

I have been taking my pets to Alta Rancho Pet and Bird Hospital for 15 years and would never want to take my animal companions anywhere else. The veterinarians, animal care staff and receptionists make every visit to the vet a meaningful and enjoyable experience for both the clients and patients. I also had the privilege to work “behind the scenes,” with Alta Rancho Pet and Bird Hospital’s medical team as a vet assistant. The veterinarians at Alta Rancho Pet and Bird Hospital are an outstanding source of knowledge because they stay current on the most innovative ways to enhance their patients’ health care. Being a part of their medical support team taught me a great deal about veterinary medicine, compassion and the importance of building relationships. The sense of camaraderie among the staff is welcoming in the way one might feel when with family and that is one of the many qualities that makes Alta Rancho Pet and Bird Hospital so special.

Both my dogs were rescue pets. My Siberian Husky was initially very unsocialized and in neglected condition: full of fleas and very scared. Dr. Henderson recognized that she needed to be sedated in order to deal with the fleas and give her injections. I was able to take her home the same day. Two weeks later she needed a hysterectomy because she had come into heat. A few months later, she tore her anterior cruciate ligament and needed surgery. After an in-depth description of the injury and what was required to fix it, Dr. Shufer performed the surgery. She came through the surgery with flying colors. I cannot say enough about the excellent care and professionalism of the veterinarians and staff at Alta Rancho Pet and Bird Hospital. i would recommend them to anyone with a pet.
