Dr. Cataldo is wonderful!! Caring, responsive and thorough. However, the office is managed so poorly that it is always utter chaos. Appointment times don't seem to matter and the staff can't seem to track who is in an exam room or in what order they should provide service. I have been a customer for well over 20 years and have finally given up on them. The last several times I have had an appointment I have left extremely frustrated and disappointed with the staff. Today I gave up on them and left after waiting 75 minutes to try and get some vaccinations for my cat. Save yourself some headaches and go to other vets in town. Not only will you save time but you will most likely save money too. I sincerely hope Dr. Cataldo moves on to another business in town or opens her own veterinary clinic. She is a great vet but she needs to leave VCA Crestwood and find a place where she can work in a professional environment.
I brought my puppy in who had tape worms. Got the medicine that I had to administer orally every day and gave it a week to clear up. Didn't clear up. So I go back and got a different doctor who said o sure let me go get the shot.....I said shot? Last time I got oral medicine. He said o that wasn't the right stuff for tape worms! So I paid 2 office visits and one right medicine and one wrong medicine. People say its not a big deal but if it was a child they would sew a doctor for giving there kid a completely wrong medicine. Because there kid went another week suffering! :(
I brought my new pup here and had a great experience. He was a rescue, and at 9 months old he hadn't received any shots or care. Dr. Decker took great care of my dog, and all of the staff were friendly and professional. I appreciated the little touches such as the separate 'cat' and 'dog' entrance doors, seeing my pet's name on the 'welcome' board, and the bandanas tied around my pup's neck at pick-up. They were also very accommodating considering my difficult work schedule; it helps that they're open on Saturdays, which is rare.
If you're military or just pro-military, boycott these dingbats!!! BLACKLIST! The only place my dog has ever been unhappy and nervous, to the point of needing a muzzle. He's been to vets in Texas, Montana, and CA, without incident. He must know something... Extraordinarily expensive for what's offered. Vet didn't even hit the right diagnosis. And the icing on the cake of this last and final horrible visit? Upon check out, got what I'd call "attitude" from young, rude staffer. Lady next to me said, Oh and you know, they offer military discounts. I'm thinking, what a nice surprise, but alas! Grouchy Staffer said, Well, sometimes, and "only to some people." (Don't take it out on me b/c some sailor broke your heart, girlfriend...) End result: SELECTIVE APPLICATION OF so-called MILITARY DISCOUNT - UNACCEPTABLE! I know in CA it's not common practice, so when you get it, it's a pleasant surprise. But do not give a "military" discount to the retiree's *wife* on her $50 bill, and blow *me* off (the one in uniform, just back from the war btw) on my $300 bill. And tell me to my face that it's only for "some people"...what does that even mean? Luckily found a marvelous woman in Kernville - much less expensive and, even if she weren't, worth every dime. She's a walking talking Dog Whisperer. Worth the drive. The handful of visits I've wasted at Crestwood were a lesson, listen to my dog. And mean people stink.
My kitty, Peeka, has a large wound on her back and I was reading the reviews for this place and almost didn't go.. one review said to avoid Dr.Clementon, and one said that it depends on which doctor you go too. My boyfriend said that he takes his cat to an asian lady doctor and that she's good and I agree! Her name is Dr.Mia. (I'm not sure how it's spelled, but that's how it sounds) My kitty is fussy about doctors and usually only behaves for the ones she senses are good people. With Dr.Mia, she was perfect, Dr.Mia checked her face, teeth, stomach, and took her temperature and Peeka just sat there with me. Then Dr.Mia checked out a large wound on my kitty's back and suggested some antibiotics and gave me a painkiller for Peeka and showed me how to give it. The price was good, and the customer service was good, so I think they've improved judging by the previous reviews. ooh, also, you get a free exam on your first visit. So that saved me about $50. I'll come back here!
