Chitchatting with a client for 30 min (this is not an exaggeration) while other people are waiting in line doesn't fit my idea of a well run business. Unfortunately, such incidents happen all too often at the North Sunrise location. Avoid this place like a plague if you're on a tight schedule and/or need to be somewhere on time.

While Banfield itself can be tough to deal with (i.e. you can NOT transfer the membership between Banfields for free), this particular clinic in and of itself is really a lot of fun. The two female vets - Dr. Pettit and I can't seem to recall the other's name - are very intelligent and friendly on a personal level. One of my dogs had a tooth that majorly needed to be extracted. They worked it out to be the least expensive for me, and least painful for my dog! For my other dog, they have been very friendly! She has submission peeing problems at the clinic and they recommended she stop by when we were just browsing the store. They would even allow us to get a room and be greeted by the staff! That's going above and beyond as far as I'm concerned. They used to be pushy to get you to sign, but recently I've noticed they've just been interested in signing you up if you really appear to be in need of the plan. They will talk you through it and be fully honest. No haggling nor appearing to be commission based. 5 stars!!!!

I took my dog here after adopting it from Paw Prints Rescue in Yuba City, at a Petsmart, only to discover that Paw Prints lied about everything they told me about this dog!! I took him to Banfield due to the free first office visit. He was seen by one Vet and given anti-biotics for infected gums. He kept turning his head sideways like his teeth hurt. After a week of that, the same Vet said the infection cleared up, and then wanted to find out why the muscles in his temple area were deteriorated. She felt his jaw and suggested he might have a broken jaw, but then she took my dog back to discuss his situation with another Vet, and he told her my dog had an autoimmune disorder called Masticatory Myositis that normally happens only with Large Dogs(shoulda been my first clue!) . She put him on steroids to treat as is stated in the Vet med book, and told me to come back in a week. I did. He started gaining weight and all looked great, until the following week his teeth and gums flared up again. This time, it was worse. I told her this, but she overlooked it due to the weight gain. So another week went by, and I took him to see her, but it was a different Vet this time. Didn't know they had rotating Vets. She was not convinced my dog had the M.M. Disease, and said he had an infected tooth that needs to be extracted. More antibiotics, and another week goes by. Take him back another week later and the first Vet was supposed to see him. However, another Vet came in, this time a man. He introduced himself and explained he was the one that told the original Vet that my dog had the M.M. Disease. He was adamant about this. I had to tell him at least 3 or 4 times that the dogs teeth are infected and not getting better. He finally shut up and insisted that his teeth are not the problem. Then to make his point, he grabbed my dogs mouth and brutally tried to open it with his huge hands. My dog was meanwhile, whimpering and the Vet said, "he doesnt seem to like this much", to which I said, "Maybe thats because he was badly abused before I got him and he doesn't want to be manhandled like that!" Then he insists the dog has the M.M. disease, and proceeds to tell me hes been an "Equine(horse)Vet for 30 years and he's seen this disease many times in horses". Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa??? A HORSE DR? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Then he wracks up a bill for $248.00 for teeth s-rays to see if his teeth are infected(DUH!!) Took him to my Vet of many years, which I should have done first of all, and she found a fracture in his jaw which is causing him great pain, and trying to heal, but the steroids are inhibiting him from healing! He needs a dental, and one tooth is infected and needs to be pulled, but we must wait 6months at least before we can do that. and, HE DOES NOT HAVE M.M. DISEASE! She's seen it before, ONCE, it is RARE, and only in BIG DOGS. He has a broken jaw, and that is why he turns his head sideways to yawn, and why he wasn't eating when we got him. Dr. Renee Case...........Cirby Vet Clinic, excellent Veterinarian, clean office, exceptional professionalism, very kind and courteous office staff. Highly Recommend her. Been to her with all my dogs for 7 years and never a problem or wrong diagnosis. BEWARE of Banfield in Roseville on N. Sunrise Ave. Make sure you ask for the same Vet and insist on seeing their Credentials. Don't sign up for the Health Plan until you check around for lower prices and better care-like at Cirby Vet Clinic. $27.00 is all she charged me for the entire 20 mins she examined my dog and diagnosed him.

Reno doesn't have any Banfield Pet Hospitals, yes it's almost 2 hrs away, but Dr. Pettit and her staff take good care of our beagles.
