am blessed to have a new Pup! and took her here for her spay/microchip/rabies shot as she had all her puppy shots when i got her. Dr.Romero is very personal and spent quality time with Me! while holding my Shadow and checking her over. i felt very special for that time as we went over questions i had or concerns or anything i wanted to bring up. i felt reassured that he and his staff would treat my pup with the best of care and the day of her procedure i was calm knowing in my heart they would. i have no doubt that they all care for our pets as much as we do and i feel very happy that i found them. oh...location is great! an added bonus!

Most caring Vet Hospital ever! The doctor(s) are super experienced and have lots of great idea and plans for treating even the most difficult of dogs. Our Sal recently saw Dr. Romero and we tried several different treatments that improved his life and made him more comfortable. I have been to many vets and Sal was often restrainted by them because he would show his teeth and bark - for some reason he thought the Staff and Doctors here were safe and didn't show teeth, bark and even let them take xrays and draw blood, etc. Best EVER. Thank you Balboa Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Romero and all the great staff!

We love our vet! Dr Romero always takes the best care of my babies. Every time there's an emergency or even a regular check up we always get the best care and service - and for a good price! The staff are always very friendly and open and they remember us, which makes us feel even more welcome. Highly recommend!

I love Dr. Romero and the staff at Balboa Veterinary Hospital!! I brought my little miniature schnauzer, Layla, here for the first time a few months ago. Being that she was my first dog that actually belongs to me... I was a little apprehensive about the entire experience. Dr. Romero was very kind and thorough with all of his answers to my questions. I also had her spayed a couple months back, and I was very pleased when they called me the day following her surgery just to check in and see how she was doing. Thank you Dr. Romero and staff for your kindness, you have my utmost recommendation to anyone looking for a great veterinary clinic!! :)

I just brought my two cats to Balboa Veterinary Hospital for their vaccinations and yearly exams. Right off the bat I was very pleased with the information the receptionist was able to give me. She was very clear about what would be done and she was able to give me a guestimate of what the cost would be. When I got to the hospital, they made me feel very welcome and like I had been a life-long customer of theirs. All the staff was incredibly friendly and took great care of my pets. They administered the vaccinations that were required and also were able to give me great information about wellness packages and nutrition for the two of them. Overall, the visit was awesome. --- I had to return about a week later because we moved to a new home and one of my cats (male Bengal) had developed some bladder issues. This was an issue that I saw as an emergency due to the articles I had found online. I called BVH and spoke with the veterinary technician who was able to give me great information. I brought him in, they ran some tests while he stayed overnight and released him the next day. They kept me informed of all the expenses and gave me options throughout the treatment so I wouldn’t be dead broke after the trip. All-in-all the trip was not that expensive and they took incredible care of my cat Fitz. I strongly recommend Balboa Veterinary Hospital to anyone in the San Diego area looking for a great Vet. Dr. Romero is a great guy and will treat your animal very well.
