They will charge way to much and make you feel very bad if you don't pay for the stuff they suggest, even though you know you can't afford it and most likely your pet does not need it!

So I recently moved to San Diego. I work as a F18 electrician in the Marines and tend to travel a lot. My husband and my dog moved in with me in military housing and are just settling in. Within 2 weeks of moving to San Diego I noticed my dog was always whining as if she was in a lot of pain. I wasn't familiar with the San Diego area and I didn't have any friends or family members to give me any recommendations on Veterinarians so I took to the internet. On google reviews people said this place was amazing and very loving to animals. I wouldn't say I am on a super budget but I also don't want it to cost me an arm and a leg. On my appointment I spoke to the technician about what needed to be done to my dog and prices. They told me we could get my dogs ears cleaned for $300 . My dog also needed to get her teeth done but that would be $600 plus the $300 for the ears. She worked with me a bit more and said if I did the ears and teeth at the same time that it would be $600 for both. I told her I would call my husband and ask first. Within half an hour I got back to her and told her I would do the $600 for both teeth and ears. Since I was also active in the military I asked if they offered a military discount? They said yes they had a 5% discount. I thought that was unfair. I go shop at Lowes and get 10% for being in the military. 5% doesn't even cover tax. But I got over it fast . Who cares about military discount, my dog won't be in pain for much longer. When I finally got the bill I was shocked! They charged me a little over $900!!! I spoke to the girl Dee who worked there because apparently Dr. Luke wasn't in. Dee told me that because I waited half an hour to give them an answer that they had already put the appointment in as a single ear cleaning and the dental separate instead of together like the technician had told me. Dee had the nerve to say, "Well your dog is taken care of right? Isn't that what really matters?" Oh..she is lucky I didn't go off. On top of that I didn't receive my military discount. I have been trying to get a hold of Dr Luke for weeks now but she is either always "Too busy" or not in to take my calls. If you don't want to be scammed do not come here!

A very good vet clinic. Too bad my cats are moving, but will definitely come back if ever back in San Diego and will definitely recommend. Thanks for all the years of service

Dr. Luke is the most thorough doctor I've ever had the pleasure of bringing my animals too. The staff is amazing and everyone shows such a great amount of care for the animals and the client. I am so happy to be a client of this close knit vet hospital. I love you guys!!!
