For so many of us our animals are our family, our best friends. It can be hard to trust anyone with the life of a pet you care so much about. Dr. Joy really truly cares about my best friend and I am so thankful for the amazing job she does!!! Without Dr Joy I would have lost my best friend to renal failure already. She always takes the time each client needs and goes out of her way to check up on us. I am the type of person who needs to fully understand things and will spend hours after hours researching. She NEVER rushes me (SO important!!!) and ALWAYS takes as much time as I need to get my questions answered! I really feel like I am talking to a friend. Not only is Dr. Joy amazing, but she has an excellent staff who are friendly and always ready to help me when I need them. They go the extra mile. I have to tell you that I am not a person who leaves reviews very often, but I know that I DO read reviews. I felt it was really important to tell people what my experience has been like. Dr. Joy is MY vet and I appreciate her and all she does for my family. Words can not thank you Dr. Joy!! =)
I kenneled my 14 year old bichon there this summer for 10 days. She got the best care! They even kept documentation on how she was eating, her weight, temperament, etc. The staff were very caring and gentle with her. I would keep her there again. I have taken her to other places before, which were more expensive, not as clean, and not as caring. This Animal Care Center is excellent!!!
PROS - Professional procedures, detailed. - A technician told me teeth cleaning can be done at discount if you schedule during their discount month, for about $110 versus $220-250. - $25 new client coupon (print and use!) - Office visits are typical; wait in lobby for 15-30 minutes, then in office room 15+ minutes. - Female doctor was easy-going, not hurried, took time to patiently answer '20 questions' personality. - Three techs I've worked with were all polite, low-stress people. - Admin staff do their work well, strictly speaking CONS - Prices -- While perhaps 'in the ballpark' with other facilities, a little higher than I've paid for vaccines elsewhere. Friend's small dog teeth cleaning was $450, with required health check (and blood work). Cleaning alone is $250. - Admin staff need to improve customer-facing attitude (in general). They just seem unhappy in general or obviously serious/stressed, and that reflects to the customer. I don't think I saw one person simply smile with a "Hi, how are you?". I've been greeted with 'How can I help you' that sounded really deadpan and emotionless. It's that obvious. Made me feel 'what's going on?' with this person... and with a couple visits now, I am seeing somewhat of a trend. The couple times I've been there the lead older woman (manager I think, not sure) is serious, appears consistently stressed to some extent, face and voice reflects it. Other staff generally 'ok', congenial but also exhibit stress... As a supervisor myself, that may be coming from the manager, or in fact they need more staff. Appears there is a 'do it all now' feeling, which is not realistic. I've never waited that long to speak with someone, etc. To Owner: Encourage your people to ENJOY their job, confirm you know it is 'always' busy (or whatever seems to be stressing them), but customers should not feel uncomfortable or that the business is 'having problems' perception. Simply ask, "What is making my team regularly anxious or tense?", and work to minimize or eliminate the issue(s). Implement process improvement lifecycle policies (i.e. plan, do, check, act). Don't ignore ongoing issues; review and improve processes.
Small Animal Care Center has been caring for our Bella for five days now and we couldn't ask for a more caring staff...they not only go above and beyond to meet the needs of the animal in their care they are also understanding of the feelings of their humans...Bella will be coming home today to her family thanks to Small Animal Care Center!
I was taking my husky here a few years back because he was having issues with his anal glands becoming impacted. After about 6? months of buying antibiotics to fight off the infection and having them milk his anal glands, I asked about getting the glands removed. I was told they would rather not do that because he could become incontinent and wouldn't be able to control his bowl movements. A month or so later I realized his stool was soft (one of the causes of anal gland problems) and we tested him for worms, which he had. Upon finding out that he had worms the vet immediately recommended we remove his anal glands(an 800$ procedure) and tried to scare me with some BS about how if they don't do it soon it could make the procedure more complicated and it needed to be done quickly. I stopped taking him to this vet that same day. This is a terrible place to take your pet. IMO they could care less about you or the well being of your animal(s)... to them its all about the money. BTW he hasn't had a problem with his anal glands sense. My advice is take your pet somewhere else.
