Ever since I found Discovery Valley I stopped thinking or worrying about where I would take my dogs if some thing happened. Everyone there is so caring with the animals, I have NEVER felt rushed through an exam so the doctor can get on to their next patient, always clean and tidy.
Staff very friendly, office clean and tidy, Dr. Young was very kind, caring and gentle when he examined my cat.
I took my rat in to Discovery Valley to get her mammary tumor removed about a month ago and I am so happy I did. Originally I was going to wait to take her to my vet in Northern California because he is cheap and specializes in exotics, and I have had bad experiences with exotics vets in San Diego overcharging and/or not knowing anything about rats. However my rat's tumor was growing really fast so I took a chance with Dr. Young. Happily he knew a lot about rats and explained everything to me. I felt like I could trust my pet in his hands. The surgery wasn't cheap, but it was VERY reasonable compared to the other quotes I had received and overall I feel like I made the right choice. My rat is so much more active and playful now and it makes me really happy :) I would definitely recommend this vet to other rat owners or just to pet owners in general!
I am a first-time pup owner and took my puppy to Dr. Young thanks to a recommendation from a friend. I was so happy after my initial visit! The office and assistance staff was incredibly smiling and friendly. They pet my puppy like she was their own and gave me advice on a good brush to buy for her coat and how to keep her from teething on my hand. I didn't have to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment. In the exam room, the doctor was very gentle and friendly with my puppy. He definitely did NOT act like he was rushed for time or had other things to get too. He was patient and sooo helpful. My puppy likely has some kind of bladder problem, an Dr. Young insisted on trying less invasive and cheaper methods to remedy the problem rather than jumping the gun and going straight to MRIs and surgery. He did not pressure me to get extra services such as heartworm medication or microchipping, but he was sure to outline the pros and cons of everything. The entire staff is easily accessible and receptive. Making appointments and asking questions is a breeze. I recommend this vet to anyone.
