Dr. Marcucci is the worst vet I have ever had to deal with. She clearly does not care about the animals but rather how much money she can get from you. She was rude, talks down to you, roughly handled my bird, even taped his broken leg before giving him pain meds. When I told her money was a factor for me right now I heard her telling the other workers in the back that I didn't have money and that's why they were sending my bird home with the minimum. My bird has a cast on his leg which feels loose to me. I will not be returning there and will find another vet to remove the cast and to assist him. If you love your pet DO NOT BRING HIM TO THIS PLACE OR TO THIS VET. ****************BEWARE*********************** Also if you go to YELP you will also find other people who delt with this vet and have had negative experiences.
I have had the best experiences with every person at Bay Area Bird Hospital. They have treated my cockatiel Linus, a parakeet Sophie and my cockatiel Rocky. The care they gave my birds was always kind, caring and gentle. I brought some difficult issues to them and when it came time for me to say goodbye to Sophie and Rocky they helped me thru a difficult time. I can't say enough wonderful things about them.
I love Bay Area Bird Hospital. I have been bringing my budgies in for years to see Dr. Marcucci. Everyone here is great, and I love that they only see birds and small animals. It's well worth the drive from South San Francisco.
This vet claims to be a rabbit doctor but the lack of knowlege about rabbits lead to the untimely death of my rabbit. There are many vets that are known and reputable rabbit experts in the Bay Area, please visit these vets (Bay Area Pet Hospital in Oakland for one) your pets life is worth it.
It's been over 13 years, and reading all the comments still bothers me that owners of animal in distress feel that they don't have a choice of care for birds. Dr Speer at the Medical Center in Oakley is the best. I would have said Chuck Galvin was the best but unfortunately he is no longer in practice due to some lady who really didn't care about all the animals. But to feel that you have to come to BABH, to be robbed of your money because you love your pet, its horrible!!! Sure some outcomes are positive, it would have been anyway with any DMV. Interesting observation is that she also hires other DMV like herself who are aloof, and truly impersonal. Please do not feel that you have no choice. Yes, you may have to drive a little further. It's not that you cannot afford this care, the question is do you have to be rape just because you are distress over your pet. It happened to me once and I beg you to listen to all the postings on Yelp and here. Thank you!! I never wrote before because this didn't exist before.
