This place is the best Veterinary hospital you are going to find, most caring and knowledgeable staff. When it comes to the quality of life and care for my animals I always want the best for ALL of my family and AWestVet is the best in the state! Dr. Carpenter is the best animal doc around and has saved my dogs (sometimes from themselves) multiple times, even when other docs around town didn't know what was wrong with my dog he diagnosed the problem just by looking at her, a confirmation test was needed but saved my dog's life, over and over again! Been taking my animals there for 15+ years and highly recommend it.

I just paid them 800 dollars to get my two cats spayed. That is just ridiculously overpriced!! I'm a single mom and I can't afford that, but I'm paying for my mistake because what choice do I have after the fact? It didn't even occur to me to ask for an estimate first, as I've never heard of anyone charging that much. They didn't bat an eye when I expressed my disbelief - they must be used to ripping people off, and they're comfortable with it, which is even more disgusting. For doing the right thing, I sure got screwed...please spare yourself the pain and and don't go there. There are plenty of caring, quality vets elsewhere.

I rescued a senior male golden retriever a year ago, and was recommended to this vet by the rescue, as Dr Carpenter had been the vet doing pro-bono work for the rescue. He is amazing. Very straight-forward, never tries to push any services, etc, and my dog loves him. We drive down from Boulder whenever we have an appointment, and I don't even mind because of the great service, and friendly staff. Plus its usually never too difficult to get an appointment that works with your schedule.

I have been to many veterinary hospitals in the area having owned pets for decades, and this is the best one yet--will stick here! Dr. Carpenter is so very knowledgeable and caring and my dogs recover from surgeries much faster than when they were done by other doctors. I appreciate his willingness to keep costs down for us and not hit me with unnecessary lab charges. I sincerely recommend anyone who cares for their pets to take them to this clinic for their health care!

I have been driving from Aurora, across town to visit them for my two dogs. Three or four visits a year as one of my dogs has an ongoing medical birth defect. They have been wonderful to work with, well worth the time spent driving across Denver. A senior dog had to be put down, the staff was teriffic in a very bad time. Love them. Mogley.
