I totally agree with the last review. These people are criminal! I took my cat in for a possible foreign body obstruction and Dr. Valentine was completely incompetent. She referred to the needed surgery as a gastrectomy and gastronomy when it is in reality a lateral foreign body removal. Thank God I am a retired veterinary technician to know how incompetent she was. She went on to show me x-rays that had "sediment" in the bladder and recommended $1400 of further diagnostics. After personal review of the x-rays it turns out that the "sediment" was something on the x-ray itself because it is on the next x-ray outside of his body!!!!! I spoke to the head vet Dr. Gardener and she admitted they "dropped the ball" but defended Dr. Valentine because she was going through chemo. So, according to them because the doctor is having personal medical problems they can misdiagnose all they want and act like complete incompetent idiots. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE!!!

These People are Criminals and ONLY want your Money!! We reluctantly used Banfield for our 2 year American old pit bull Broggen who was having a horrible time with his ears. It being Sunday our choices were limited as to where to treat him. After a failed attempt to clean his ears our selves and get him feeling better, we realized we were over our heads with this one. So we ended up at Banfield in Arvada since we were told the visit and physical was only $40. We were finally taken to the back 30 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. After the vet tech spent 20 minutes showing us all the expenses that we were potentially needing to spend for an ear infection treatment for a very fearful dog. $265!!!! The vet tech did almost all of the talking, mostly pricing spread sheets and talking way to fast. The vet herself (she looked completely frazzled and way too similar to a female Doc Brown in Back to the Future) only spent 3 minutes with us! Most notably, they charged $35 dollars to use an otoscope (look in his ears) as it isn't covered with the physical exam. There was also a $5 disposal fee for the cotton balls and gauze used to clean his ears!! Ridiculous!! If we did all the crap they were pushing for it would have exceeded $320, even after i nit picked the bill down, it was still $208. We were flabbergasted as the "deep cleaning" and treatment that cost so much only took 13 minutes. Long story short, they are all car salesmen, thieves or cash collectors! They do not really care for the animals they treat and think even less of the people who love them! They'll call to check on the pets and send a hope you feel better card, but ALL they want is for you to come back and leave your wallets.

I have never seen such horrible customer service. My boyfriend and I got a dog from an animal shelter, and at the shelter, we were able to get her completely up to date on all her shots. We were trying to decide if we wanted to get a pet plan, and liked what we saw at Banfield. We received a free checkup coupon and thought it would be a great idea to use and see if we liked the vets there. We scheduled the appointment letting them know we had a coupon for a check up. Once we got there, they weren't super friendly like what you find in private vets office, just business like. When it started, we told the vet's assistant that we came in for our free check up and were thinking about signing up for a plan. She was quick to speak and said something along the lines of us not being able to use the free checkup with a plan (even though we had yet to get a plan). She completely ignored the fact that I was one of the owners of the dog and only spoke to my boyfriend since his name was the one on all the information. I then warned her our dog had trust issues with new people because she is a rescue and that she may bite at her. The vet assistant didn't listen and tried picking her up incorrectly and my dog was shaking and nipping. Then she started throwing all these shots at us that she said we needed to give our dog. Just list after list. It was overwhelming and we asked if they would be covered if we bought a pet plan. She said yes, except for she would have to charge us for one of them (even though normally it would be covered). Although the plan is only $25 a month, it was going to be almost $50 to start, plus a $32 vaccine, and we could just see the dollars and cents piling up in front of us. Next thing we new she was taking our dog in the back for all of these blood and fecal tests. Keep in mind, we came in for the free check up. No one was listening to us. So we went straight to the front desk to tell them to have the vet assistant stop any of the tests because we were already going to be dishing out $80 for when we were expecting to do a FREE checkup. We eventually saw the vet for our dog's free checkup, and you could tell immediately that the vet was irritated by us. She spent an excruciating amount of time on our dog... three minutes. And the whole three minutes seemed to be a complete waste of her time. We did not feel welcomed there, and were never taken seriously because we are only in our early 20's. But I love my dog, and I am willing to pay more for people who greet me and my dog with excitement when we walk in and make me feel comfortable with my dog in their hands. This is not a vet office, it is business, with poor customer service.

In the past I would never have gone to Banfield, but it was a holiday weekend and my 8 year old Golden Retriever just needed her anal glands expelled and tail, which she'd chewed up and even punctured, cleaned and disinfected. A couple days prior, my dog ate my husband's boxers (separation anxiety), pooped part of it out the next day and threw it up moments before I took her to Banfield. She's eaten things a lot, and even though she's had 2 surgeries to remove other clothing that wouldn't pass, we are now pretty comfortable with what we do to help her pass (or throw up, if the soft object was swallowed moments before). The tech was very thorough in her questioning. I expected the vet to want to do xrays, which she did. We've always had xrays done, and some MRI's as well, and non of them have ever shown the soft object (towel, underwear) so I had no reason to think a radiograph would be helpful this time. Rather than making me feel like a bad pet owner for refusing the Xray, the vet agreed that the soft object would probably not show up, and that I probably know my dog better. After the vet took care of the tail and saw the extent of the damage, which included a golf-size ball with puncture marks in it, she originally wanted to give my dog, who was already on an antibiotic for Giardia, an injection of a low dose, slow releasing antibiotic for the tail. When she was that I was shocked at the $122 cost, she found another option for another antibiotic that could be fed orally and cost half that amount. The vet listened to me,(and the dog) and my dog was well taken care of and they didn't try to sell me on the care plan or push xrays or other products. I only went to Banfield because my vet was closed, but with the great care my dog got at a reasonable price on a holiday weekend, I will be switching to them for her main vet.

Best place ever for my cat, i have been to quite a few other places for her teeth/bad heart. none of them would help, or took her teeth seriously. This place did, and they were wonderful, also my next door neighbors have been taking their cats there for 10 + years now, they have always raved on and on about them. Now i see why ! What good people ! And they actually care ! I will never take my angel any where else again ! Also in this day and age no place in the world will give you pet care with out all the money there and then. I myself would never dream of asking such a thing !
