When I went in to see Dr. Hayes for the first time, my green cheek, Envy, wouldn't stop vomiting. This was my first trip to the vet, and I was terrified for my bird. Even though Dr. Hayes was booked and had several emergencies that night, he said I could bring Envy in. I didn't know what to expect, I feared for my bird's life, and I also didn't have a lot of money. In very short order, Dr. Hayes identified the problem and treated my green cheek, who is now back to normal health. I'm very impressed with Dr. Hayes' abilities and dedication to his feathered patients. Thank you so much for making the first trip to the vet a good one, for helping my bird to feel better, and for all of your follow-up care. I couldn't ask for a better vet! Bird vets seem to be quite rare, and I'm so happy to say that I've found a great one! Do not hesitate to take your bird in to see Dr. Hayes.

My experience with the hospital was horrible, even though one doctor seemed to care (but still didn't know the proper procedure). Ever since February 2014 I was inquiring via email what I'd have to do in order to receive international travel clearance for my cockatiel. The process was tedious and no one knew what to do, even thoughthey are supposed to be trained (USDA-requirements and training) and specialized in this area (see website). During the actual appointment months later they were COMPLETELY unprepared (even though I had emailed them all of the required documents in advance and filled out all of the information). Essentially, I did all the work, and provided ALL of the information for the hospital, and they then went ahead and charged me $195.00 for work I had done, and they had copied wrong...turned out they made a mistake filling out the forms and thus didn't meet USDA requirements. Needless to say it was a HORRIBLE experience, a HUGE stressor for me (1 day before immigrating to another country!!), and I still haven't received a proper refund. I barely got my bird to go with me, but the charge for the document should be waved entirely. It wasn't a service, it was a nightmare. I did all the prep-work, and they made mistakes copying the information and then over-charged me for a service they didn't provide... Be very careful with this clinic, they may care about the animals they treat, but they are not competent, helpful or caring when it comes to international travel arrangements.

I just wanted to express my gratitude for for Dr. Greg and his awesome staff! After determining that my goshawk was acting strange I brought him in and Dr. Greg was able to nail a diagnosis quickly and treat him immediately. It was a great relief to have him help my bird and his staff knew exactly what to do to support him during the procedure. Greg's confidence exudes from his personality but it is not cocky, merely matter of fact. The best part was that the bill was 1/2 of what I expected it to be and although my bird has not completely healed I know he has a fair shake with the help of the Arapahoe Animal team! -Ian
