Our cat Dexter recently had to have surgery on his bladder due to a couple of bladder stops blocking his ability to urinate. Before we understood the issue, we had all sorts of scans and checkups done to attempt to find the issue. The doctors at High Plains seemed genuinely concerned for his wellbeing and eventually identified the bladder stones. We ended up having to have surgery at an emergency vet but the High Plains vets gladly volunteered the X-rays, notes, and even called over to explain what they knew on hand about Dexter’s condition. After his surgery, they provided the after surgery checkup and a prescription for food that would prevent further stones from being created. The only thing I had to pay for was the food! The staff was incredibly friendly and the doctors were very empathetic to our situation. We keep their information on hand for both Dexter and our other cat Dib and will definitely be bringing them back for future checkups.

We are frequent flyers at High Plains Vet, as we had a puppy who survived parvo and now has allergies. The staff is amazing with our animals and extremely knowledgeable. They recognize our dogs every time we bring them in. I usually can call and get an appointment that same day, if not the next day at a time that fits my schedule. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new place to take their furry friends.

Very fast and they don't throw generic answers at you to rush you out the door. Call before going in with your dog, they triage like any medical facility, you may get set up for an appointment instead of being seen on the spot, so your sick pup won't have to make the trip twice.

I've been to a handful of veterinarians in several states due to my travels over the past ten years and High Plains is the best office I've been to. They have seen 4 of our 5 cats and we have seen several of their doctors. They are all very knowledgeable, to include the doctors, techs, and also the front desk staff. I also appreciate that they will only prescribe a medication if it is necessary. I was pleased when we left one appointment medication-free because I was told that continuing with the Enisyl that my cat was currently receiving will get her over her cold. I also have to say that the compassion shown in this office is like no other I have been to. I had to put one of our cats down at the local emergency clinic last week (it was 4 am, High Plains was not open), and we received, not only a sympathy card with a personalized message from Dr. Matz, but also a lovely flower arrangement. It brought me to tears when I read who it was from. Thank you everyone at High Plains. I am so glad that I have a trusted office for my furry babies.

I love High Plains Veterinary Hospital. The staff is friendly and helpful. All of the doctors in the practice take the time to talk with you and provide exceptional care. I was in the office yesterday with my older pit bull, who has issues with her hips. Dr. McKenney said if I email her the name of the natural pain medication we use on painful days she would look over the ingredients and let me know if it's the most effective or if there is something better for her. She got back to me the same day and offered a pain reliever in addition to what we were using. We were in the office for a completely different reason, but Dr. McKenney took the time to get back to me on an issue unrelated to our visit. We also have a reactive shepherd, who does incredibly well with the doctors at High Plains. I've brought our dogs for regular visits and for emergency situations and have always had a positive experience. It really is an outstanding practice.
