I brought my cat to Animal Health Care Specialists for a dental cleaning and extractions. I was very nervous about the idea of having my cat go under anesthesia so I probably asked about a thousand questions. Everyone in the office was patient and understanding. They answered all of my questions down to the medications they gave during the procedure and the monitoring equipment they had. The Doctor did a fantastic job and called me to let me know that everything went well immediately after she finished. Due to stomatitis, my cat needed 14 extractions which would have cost me $2000 anywhere else when you pay per tooth. The flat dental rate at this office saved my bank account. Animal Health Care Specialists made taking care of a loved pet affordable and did a spectacular job on top of it. Thank you!

I wouId give it a zero because I never went. I said my dog was having trouble going to the bathroom. He is eating fine but having constipation. They told me exam fee which was fine and then said I would probably have to do an exploratory for $1000 I said I may not be able to afford that. Which I may have tried to work it out confirming that he had an obstruction. I got a call about an hour later on my voicemail saying the vet was refusing service because I probably could not afford the exploratory. I had already blocked myself off of work for the rest of the day. Mind you they have not even seen my dog. My dog has gone now since I've gotten home. I'm taking my dog back to Wash Park vet where I usually go but I moved up North so I was referred here. I have never had a place refuse an animal without even giving them an initial exam. Extremely poor customer service. I don't recommend them and will defer anyone from going here. The vet is obviously a real ass that doesn't care about animals. I'm not asking for a free service but an initial exam should be able to determine where we need to go from there. Then we can talk about other expenses. Horrible experience. I was also put on hold twice the first time I called about ten minutes. They should have just taken my number and called me back the second time I just hung up.

I just called these people because another clinic quoted me $1175 to have my dogs abcess removed. I seen the google reviews for this place and how they are affordable and how well they can help with how veterinarians try to rape you on their bills in the first place. The receptionist just tells me they cant take a transfer from another vet! so all they put on their site is a bunch of crap. my dog is running 105 fever from her abcess and they cant take a transfer wtf. im reporting these people thats crap dont fall for the advertising scam to get people in there. I will be calling management on this one

These guys are truly amazing, and obviously love what they do. The Doc. can be a bit standoffish, but once you get passed that, you discover that he's hilarious, nice, and generous. I have a small senior dog rescue, and have all my dogs treated there. He treated my 20 year old (something many other vets refused) and got him healthy again after years upon years of neglect. I recommend this vet to everyone. Really incredible people who are not money motivated like the majority of vets.

I completely respect this vet, and wouldn't go anywhere else. I chose them because they give back to the community so much and what they do, they do for the dogs, and not for the profit. I foster dogs, and you even get perks for being a foster parent. They are all about rescue and give back so much to help pets in the community. I adore this vet for his straightforward and professional approach. In my opinion all adults should be able to handle someone being real with you, especially if it helps your animal in the end. We've made some changes at the suggestion of Dr. Shulman, and our pets are so much better for it. He's caught things that no one else has, and he keeps his services affordable, as well as runs a foundation to treat animals that are in need.
