'Loved it' really does describe my experience. I have moved around a lot over the last 10 years and this is my favorite vet office. They are all very kind and caring and the office is ran very professionally. Vet visits are very stressful and my cat and I appreciated the short wait time! Dr. Dobkin took care of my dog several years ago when he was sick and he did everything he could for him. He truly loves animals; explained options fully and encourages communication. Also, the place is spotless and no weird smells.
I have taken my pets to Dr. Tasky for a number of years, but have found a new vet. The prices are ridiculously high and this was never a consideration when making recommendations for the care of my dog who has heart disease. Anyone can have an off day, so I continued taking my dog to her despite feeling like I was being patronized and condescended to. Unfortunately it was not an off day, and after leaving the office many times feeling extremely pressured to schedule numerous expensive procedures, and shamed for having to consider the financial aspect of my pet's care, I will not return. The last straw was getting a "lesson" on how insurance works (which was irrelevant since I didn't have pet insurance and would never be able to get it with a pre-existing condition) and paying over $100 a month for my dog's medication. Not once did Dr. Tasky suggest checking with any of the human pharmacy's. I could have been paying $4 a month, for three of the four prescriptions, had she told me to check with any of the grocery store pharmacies. I can't help thinking her bottom line was her biggest priority.
All 4 of our pets LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Dobkin and Gentle Touch Animal Hospital. The facility is beautiful and spotless, the staff are very kind, caring, and honest, and Dr. Dobkin is outstanding. I have only lived in Denver for about 2 years, but with 4 pets, we've needed to visit the vet a few times, and I would just like to mention a couple of examples of the kind of care we have received at Gentle Touch. First, earlier this year, my Bassett Hound was feeling ill in the middle of the night and I had to take him to a 24 hour emergency vet. Sadly, that vet misdiagnosed him and a few days later, my poor puppy was not any better - so I called Gentle Touch. Dr. Dobkin agreed to see us right away and within 20 minutes of our arrival, we had the correct diagnosis and a treatment plan that brought my dog immediate relief. I can't even describe how wonderful that experience was, and how much we appreciated the follow up calls from both Dr. Dobkin and the staff checking on how our dog was doing. Second, I also have a cat with some chronic health issues who has a history of requiring hospitalization. So last week, when he started feeling ill, I called Gentle Touch right away. Dr. Dobkin agreed to see us that day. He evaluated my cat and determined that he needed a procedure that the cat had required in the past (and which usually has meant hospitalization for 2-3 days). What made this experience so special was - because of the training and skill of Dr. Dobkin and the staff, not only did my cat get the care he needed right away, but I was able to take my cat home within a few hours (instead of a few days) where he could recover in his own home. Thank goodness not all of our visits to Gentle touch involve emergencies like the visits mentioned above, but with routine wellness visits and dental exams, we have always experienced the same level of kindness and professionalism toward our pets and us. Additionally, we really appreciate that the staff at Gentle Touch are very upfront and direct about the estimated cost of care when laying out treatment options, so we've never been surprised by a bill. I really can't say enough good things about Dr. Dobkin and the staff at Gentle Touch. We actually drive past 3 other vet offices on the way to the office because we are so happy there. If you need a vet, you can't go wrong with Gentle Touch:)
Great, friendly, caring staff. Made my puppy's first trip to the vet a positive experience. Very happy and highly recommend it.
I had a great experience at Gentle Touch. The facility is clean and professional and the staff and vets exceeded my expectations. Specifically, Dr. Dobkin is fantastic! Not only did he do a great job of handling and diagnosing my pet Colby (a typically angry and anti-social cat) but he also did a great job of walking me through the process and explaining the exam and follow-up at home care. I can't say enough good things about his approach.
