I'm so glad we found Montclair. We've been patients here for almost 15 years. The care is the very best. The clinic is smaller, independent (no big retail chains here) and no-frills. It's just very personal, where the whole staff know us and our dogs. If there is a specialty service that they can't provide (like advanced cancer care) the docs here work closely with outside specialists. I wish my own human medical care was this good.

I'm a new dog owner. I took my 9 year old, standard poodle in for a new patient physical and to get all of my questions answered. Service was excellent from initial contact with the receptionist through checkout. Prices are affordable (I called 3 other clinics); Dr. Steve Sharkey cares about the patient and the person. Vet tech was great with my dog, too! So glad I went to Montclair!

This is a great old school vet clinic where the vet creates a relationship with the animals and their owners and gets things done. We had one dog with some serious 'GI (gut) issues', then our other one caught it. We tried to get in to our normal clinic (unnamed large national chain) that we had been seeing for over twenty five years (starting way before they got bought out) and but 'they couldn't fit us in' (Oh, unless we came to their Emergency $$$$ Clinic--then they could get us in ! !) So we went where a lot of our friends had been going for years--Dr. Sargent's Montclair Animal Clinic. A married couple is slowly taking over the business from Dr. Sargent and we saw Dr. Steve Sharkey. He gave the dogs and exam, did the lab work, gave us our prescriptions and had us out of there in less than an hour. And the dogs were healthy and well by the next morning. We're thrilled and this is where we'll be going in the future.

I 've tried other Vets but time and time again I continue to go back to Dr.Sargent Lisa the lady at the front desk is AAAAA-mazing. Very affordable doesn't try to sell you things you don't need. Doesn't create extra cost for procedures that don't need to be done. My dogs are always very well taken care of. What more can I say? This Vet is not overpriced unlike Firehouse also known as Milk house cuz they milk you dry out of house and home..

My family has a 5 year old Labrador retriever, and there is a condition in that breed called 'happy tail'. When a retriever gets into a stream, that is very cold, and then jumps around for a while, like labs do, their tail muscles get tired and give up. Her tail was hanging very low and wouldn't move for anything. We took her to another area vet and they charged us $160 to tell us she had this happy tail and all they could do was wait it out. We took her to Montclair the next time this happened and they didn't charge us a single penny! Not only that, the staff is friendly, they have been nothing but supportive and very nice to Sunshine, my lab. Also, if you are considering leaving your dog or cat with a vet while you go on vacation, Montclair is the place to do so. We left Sunshine at the other vet when she was about 9 months old and when she came home, she would cower every time we went to pet her head as if someone had hit her over and over again. At Montclair, she came back happier than ever. Their prices are VERY reasonable, the staff is amazing, and my dog feels comfortable EVERY time we go. I HIGHLY recommend Montclair Animal Clinic.
