Fantastic, professional, and caring veterinary clinic. We are proud to work with RMVN and provide them custom compounded medications for their patients. Their techs and vets are the best of the best.
We are VERY disappointed with this clinic. We found ourselves bringing our dog to this facility (for an emergency) 6 weeks ago for what we found out to be a ruptured cervical disc. We were never told what to expect after the surgery, just told that he needed the surgery and he would fully recover. The week following the surgery, while he was recovering in their care, we were constantly told he was doing great and regaining a lot of strength in his legs. We inquired about a getting doggie cart when he came home, they told us we would never need it. The day we picked him up they went over a few things before they brought him out to us (regarding medications, no stairs for 3-4 months, and keeping him on strict bed rest for 5 weeks). When they brought him out to us we were speechless, he could not walk nor could he stand on his own, two of their technicians were pulling him out (he was in a full harness), we asked if he could walk they said, not on these linoleum floors. They said we would really notice a difference in a few days. When we got him home (on carpet) he was dragging his legs, he had no strength in his rear legs and very little in his front legs.. One thing they also neglected to tell us was what to expect when it came to bowel and bladder movements -- which we quickly found out were not occurring at all. It is 6 weeks later, we have called now 3 times in the last 2 weeks with questions, THEY HAVE NEVER RETURNED OUR CALLS. We have gone online and done extensive research, loss of bowels and bladder is quite common and a lengthy recovery is to be expected. Do not get me wrong, this place saved our dog and we are grateful for that, however, they should educate the owner before this surgery on what will be happening for the next several months. Our dog is on 2 medications to aid in bladder relief and that is not 100% so we have to express his bladder from time to time otherwise it is 24+ hours between pee’s, we have to assist in bowel relief otherwise he cries for hours because he cannot push. We would have used a doggie cart daily when we take him for these so called “walks” – which consist of my husband and I each holding an end of his harness. Taking care of our dog is a full time job, we are thankful he can come to our office each day otherwise we do not know how we would be able to care for him. We spent several thousand dollars for this surgery and firmly believe we deserved to be better educated about what the recovery from this type of surgery would entail – this clinic, in my personal opinion, just wanted my money and could care less what happens once you leave their building.
