Dr. Elmslie and staff have always been so wonderful with Cady. We are beyond grateful for the extra years that we've gotten with her. But more importantly we know that even if the treatment hadn't provided these amazing results, that Dr Elmslie would have counselled us as to what was best for Cady and her quality of life.

This has been an amazing experience. Considering the devastating news we received in January 2012, with the incredible expertise, guidance, support, and love we found at VRCC, our OES, Lulu, has had great quality of life and good health for two years. Can not say enough about Dr. Elmslie, Dr. Ringen, and the whole team!

My wife and I have enjoyed working with Robyn Elmslie in the treatment of our basset hound Kiki. She has been up front with everything that had to be done to help us in the cancer treatment that he needed. She explained everything that had to be done and answered all of our questions concerning his treatment. I would highly recommend her to other individual's who are going through deciding whether to treat or put their dog or cat down due to cancer. It has been tough during this process but Dr. Elmslie has taken the best care of our dog. It is a 38 mile round trip for each treatment but it has been worth it to give our Kiki additional time to be with us.

The end of December 2012 my dog Rowdy finished his treatment for lung cancer in Texas and we moved to Denver. After working for veterinarians for the 7 years we lived in Texas Rowdy and I made many wonderful friends and it was hard to think about finding a new clinic for his check ups and possible care. The only way we know he is cancer-free is with chest radiographs and blood work. We have done these twice at the VRCC and both visits were so positive. Rowdy was declared in remission in June, two years after his surgery and after 18 months of Palladia, a pill form of chemotherapy. Dr. Robyn Elmslie and her staff are so kind and caring and I feel they genuinely share in my happiness when we receive the results from Rowdy's tests. We were able to extend his next visit until 6 months from 3 and we look forward to seeing Dr. Elmslie and her staff in December.

Dr. Elmslie and the entire staff of the VRCC oncology department were very good to my dog Max when he came in with a diagnosis of thyroid cancer. Here in Colorado Springs, I tried to get Max in to see the internal medicine specialist and after explaining the urgency of the matter, was told it would be 2 weeks before they could even SEE him. So in desperation we called VRCC and it has been 9 days since his diagnosis and he is already scheduled for thyroidectomy tomorrow. Dr. Elmslie went over ALL of the options for Max and when she recommended an ultrasound and chest x-ray to make sure the cancer had not yet spread, her excellent staff was able to complete those tests right then and there - no second appointment and additional travel to Denver required. When surgery was recommended as the best option, Dr. Elmslie made sure we understood that she would not do the surgery but there were surgeons not only at VRCC but at several other unaffiliated locations who could perform the surgery. She had the surgery team at VRCC provide an estimate but encouraged us to also seek estimates elsewhere. Ultimately, we decided on the VRCC surgeon to complete the surgery mostly because of the kindness and caring that we experienced at the oncology department. And when we were ready to leave, Dr. Elmslie treated me like a worried owner - NOT a source of income. She gently took my hand and assured me that once surgery was over, she would continue to co-ordinate all of Max's after surgery care and I felt like a family friend, rather than a client.
