I brought my dog in because of apparent internal bleeding while I was on vacation. It was thought to be from medication he was taking. However, I was never advised by the vet that the bleeding could be a hemorrhage. My pet was given a shot and sent away. I followed up with phone calls the next day, because my pet was nauseous. Again, I was told it was normal. Actually, my pet was hemorrhaging, and I was never advised by the vet that this could be a very serious problem. After the second day, we took the dog to critical care. He almost died and was hospitalized for 6 days. I would think long and hard before using a clinic that does not educate clients about possible life-threatening dangers. I would never advise anyone I know to use this clinic and I hope that the doctors there start to give clients better advice. It is disappointing to rely on a doctor's advise only to find out that they haven't talked about the whole range of possibilities. If you are in the mountains, consider driving to Breckenridge or Wheat Ridge and avoid this clinic.
I have never written a review in my life but feel compelled to share our bad experience with this business to other customers and potential customers. First, we took our dog in for an emergency surgery and the surgery was delayed two days. Our dog was in sever pain for the entire time while we had to wait patiently for the scheduled surgery. Second, after the surgery, on the follow up appointment to take the rod out, the doctor looked at the X-Ray and said the leg should be ready but we should wait 2 more weeks to be safe. $190 for an X-Ray. Third, on the next visit, the doctor said his leg should have more time to heal after looking at X-Ray's again. $ 190 for an X-Ray. Why would ever agree to almost $ 400 in X-Ray bills for nothing to be done?? We would have scheduled the rod to be taken out months later as it doesn't hurt him to have it in anyway. Fourth, customer service is terrible. With this surgery, follow-ups, and annual checkups for two dogs, we have visited over 10 times (including pickup and drop-off) over the past year. We consistently have a long wait time, many times upwards of an hour! It makes visiting a doctor seem easy!
I have taken my dogs to Evergreen Animal Hospital for several years. Even though I live in Castle Rock, I make the trip to Evergreen. No matter what is happening, they have given my pets great care. I took my pup there for shots & neutering and my old dog has gone for wellness, dental and recently surgery. I won't trust anyone else with my pets.
My Saint Bernard suffered a stroke two weeks after we moved to Evergreen...so we had no idea where to go, or what to do. The folks at EAH were incredible....not only doing everything that they could to keep her comfortable until passing, but they allowed us to sit with her long afterwards to say our goodbyes. While they are certainly great at the medical care, their compassion for situations like this is far more remarkable. Thank you for making a very difficult situation as healing as possible.
I am new to this area and so I did not know where to take my cat when he began hurting and being withdrawn. Unfortunately I took my cat to another vet in this area and when I left their office I was told that all was fine, got him home and he was breathing very labored, called them back and they told me that he would be fine in the morning, just was a little excited from the office visit. I explained his gums were purple, his mouth very cold and breathing very hard, I was told that a cat's mouth always seems cooler to us and she would check back with me in the morning. When I called them the 2nd time (their after hrs number), there was no answer or forwarded number to call. I rushed to Evergreen Animal Hospital and there was really very little Dr. Stephen could do, but they give my cat oxygen, allergy medication (seems he had either an allergic reaction from the first vets office or he presented with an allergic reaction). If the first vets office had listened to his lungs, we would know if he was allergic, but they stated they couldn't hear his lungs clearly since there was purring!! So the deed was left for Dr. Stephen to do and he did his best. I knew he was frustrated that the cat was in his hands at this point in time and not earlier when he could have probably saved his life. I will bring my pets here from now on and not ever go back to the other vet down the street. So sad, missing my Sampson.
