I called them at midnight in a panic because my guinea pig was dying and I needed advice on if I should let her go, or transport her to the vet to be euthanized. I had already called a few vets downtown but they were hugely unhelpful and even rude. Mackenzie answered the phone, and comforted me and asked calm, logical questions. She talked to me and assured me that I did well by my sweet Marzi, who passed during the duration of the call. Mackenzie was a sweet blessing for taking so much time to talk to me. I am so grateful for her kind compassion and patience.
We have brought all of our dogs to this clinic at one time or another. Their oncologist Dr Arnold is wonderful and caring. So are the clinicians in the oncolology dept. We have had surgeries, chemotherapy, and many other different types of visits over the years. This year alone we have spent thousands of $$ there on our Golden, and then 2 weeks ago she was diagnosed with lymphoma. She lived 10 days and we had to put her to sleep because she was in much pain. As we are sitting there they bring us the invoice for $420!!! Talk about preying on people in their darkest moment! There was nothing we could do but pay, since our dog was gasping for air and dying before our eyes. It is ridiculous when we have used them many times to treat our animals and been loyal customers that they would charge that much $ to put our poor dog out of her misery. We have had to put dogs down in the past (NOT THERE) and have paid as much as $250, which seemed high, but seriously for their 5 minutes of time it is disgraceful to treat clients/patients like that! We will not be back....for any reason, ever!
We were referred here by our primary care vet for oncology. Our first two appointments were fine; we met with an oncologist, got X-rays and scans done, talked about possible treatment options (most likely surgery, depending on the results of the scan), and then the oncologist didn't contact us for six days. The scan results were available sooner, but the oncologist wasn't in the office Mon. and Tues. and hadn't arranged for anything to progress in her absence. When she did call, she couldn't tell us much about what the scan showed and referred us to another vet hospital with oncology surgeons (whom we had already taken it upon ourselves to contact). Overall, the experience felt like they were there to do some (very expensive) tests and not much else. We didn't feel like we or our dog was truly taken care of.
I took my 6 year old dog here in an emergency situation. I was referred by another vet as she needed 24/7 care. The staff were very professional, compassionate and seemed highly skilled. They had visiting hours, I could access the veterinarians via phone, and also spoke with the vet techs to check in on my dog at all hours. I felt like they were on top of everything while my dog was there. I have pet insurance and they sent over all the information and I was reimbursed for the care. This was the first time I took my dog to an emergency vet, so I don't know how they rate in terms of prices. Overall, very thankful for their help and that my dog was ok. Would definitely return if we needed ER vet.
NEVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE!! I had the worst service imaginable. My dog had a serious issue that required surgery. It took several days just to make progress on his diagnosis. I had to go into the clinic and call several times to get things progressing. I took him in on Saturday at 1:00pm. When they changed shifts/drs on Monday I was given another dr. This dr didn't do anything either...even though I had already given approval to continue with the diagnosing steps. The doctor scolded me for coming into the office upset.(Monday @ 3:30pm) Stating that they had other dogs with more pressing issues?! At this point my dog had already been there 2 days. It had not been determined that my dog needed surgery at the time I was speaking with her...because they did not complete the barium study or the ultrasound as they suggested to me. I approved all charges...but still nothing happened. My dog needed surgery - this was not determined until 3 days into his stay. I was referred to this center because they are a specialty center. IF you want to have things drag on and on...and your animal suffer then take your pet here. Updates were few and far between. I had to call for the majority of my updates. Dr. Stubbs completed the surgery on my dog for an obstruction. He was wonderful and did a fantastic job. The rest of the staff was very pleasant - it just did not seem that this was a WORLD CLASS FACILITY as they state on their website. Mary & Maria were fantastic. Dr. Trimble is the public relations director - he contacted me and proceeded to rip my head off. He later apologized for his actions siting that another customer had upset him. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! The staff was pleasant once they were assisting you. They seemed very attentive to the pets. The only person who was rude to me was Dr. Trimble. This visit caused me lots of heartache and pain. I would NEVER bring my pet here again. PLEASE find another facility.
