they don't let you stay with your pet for procedures. the animal gets sent off and you sit and wait. I'd like to be with my pet for shots and uncomfortable procedures. especially since I'm the one my pets know. Also they didn't do good after surgery care when my pet was spayed. wrapped my dog too right and she started bleeding badly and couldn't move. paid an extra 500 dollars at emergency care elsewhere bc chatfield vet was closed.

Terrible experience. Careless and uncaring. Take your pets to CVH at your own risk. (I see the vet has given herself a 5-star rating below. How pathetic is that?)

Will never go back to this place. I was assisting my Mom in putting her 15 year old, blind, deaf and tumorous little Dachshund down and the already traumatic experience was made especially worse by the insensitivity of Dr. Ben Nemmers. After two of his vet techs were unsuccessful in finding a vein on her sick little dog, Dr. Nemmers comes in and proceeds to second guess my Mom's difficult decision to put her dog down. He tells her he wants to run some blood work and believes the only issue the dog has is Diabetes. He informs us that dog's live long happy lives being deaf and blind and that we need to understand how "permanent" this decision is. Really, we hadn't considered this? Who does this guy think he is? I am no animal doctor, but I do know that a 15 year old blind, deaf dog is probably on the very tail end of a productive life, but thanks for the session in guilt. Look, I get that this guy is running a business, but is this this most appropriate time to up-sell? His demeanor towards us during our contentious conversation started to seem as if he thought we were just out for a walk with the dog and thought: "hey, let's go kill mom's dog!" He was not giving her credit for struggling with this decision for months and not to mention, credit the struggles her little dog had been in for much longer than that. Perhaps costly Insulin injections for the next year would have saved the dog's life temporarily, but he wasn't offering any of this for free. His motives were transparent and insensitive to the point I felt compelled to offer up this review. I would hate for anyone else to have to endure this guy's lack of bedside manner during their time of need. For this reason, I will personally never return to this facility or recommend it to anyone I know. It is a shame that this is the case since the facility is literally located inside my neighborhood, but I would drive across town before returning to Chatfield Vet Hospital.

We have 5 dogs and have been going to Chatfield Vet Hospital for years. All of the Vets are very professional and knowledgeable and provided great care to my pets. I have recommended them to other friends and they have had the same experience I have. If you are looking for a Vet that will do what is best for your pet and explain your options this is the place for you!

For fifteen years Dr. Crawford and her team at Chatfield Veterinary Hospital have given our pets professional and compassionate care. From youngsters to old age, our cats and dogs have consistently received the absolute best care that we could hope for. We also have observed that our dogs return from boarding at Chatfield calm and happy--a true Godsend for our high-strung Australian Shepherd.
