I have trusted Doctors Runkle and Levy of Coal Mine Animal Hospital since their clinic opened. Before that, they were both doctors for my animals at a facility owned by someone else. I have found both women to be excellent, caring vets of the highest medical quality. They are respectful of an owner's right to chose while still protecting the rights of that pet. In times of loss and grief they each take the time to care and support clients through this process. I have found each very conscious of options and costs when helping to assess the care of my animals whether they are dogs, cats, or Guinea Pigs . Having an ill, special needs, or rescue animal is extremely demanding and emotional. Each doctor takes the time to to inform, educate and make thoughtful, clinical recommendations. The supporting staff at Coal Mine is just as excellent as the doctors. All are wonderful, however Daren, Mary, and April have been the staff members who have been most integral to my interactions with the hospital. We had a very bad experience at our first vet office when we moved to Colorado. We were SO thankful to find Dr. Runkle and Dr. Levy soon after. They have seen us through 2 dogs and a cat. We can't even describe how amazing they were when our first dog passed away. I think they are better than my primary care physician!! My son also volunteered at their office and gained great experience from his time there. This is the office to take any loved pets to.

The good news starts when you walk in the door and meet Mary, an asset to any office. The facility is clean, open and appealing. Dr. Runkle has been very welling to share her knowledge, advice and time to the benefit of our 'baby', Twiggy. She diagnosed her ailment quickly and started appropriate treatment in a timely manner. Twiggy is doing much better and is on the mend. Dr. Runkle and her staff have called several times to check on Twiggy's progress. We are very pleased with their care and professionalism. 5 stars!!!

We have been taking our furry family to Coal Mine Animal Hospital for several years now. We started there when our first kitty had renal failure and we had to put him down. The care, love and professionalism of all of the staff helped get us through that traumatic time. We were so grateful. The folks who work at Coal Mine Animal Hospital are professional, caring and compassionate individuals...each and everyone of them. Dr. Leavy and Dr. Runkle are among the best in the metro area. Our dog, Bacchus had some special needs and they searched and found ways to help relieve his pain. They cried with us when our pets came to the end of their lives and celebrated new beginnings when we found our Bogie as a new puppy. From the happy face and voice of Mary at the front desk to every other technician who works there...this is a happy bunch of folks who love animals and are the ultimate good pet friends...I highly recommend Coal Mine Animal Hospital for all of your veterinary needs..for your peace of mind and your pet's best interest.
