Dr. Bender is incredible. I was put at ease immediately -- you can tell Dr. Bender is very experienced, knows what he's doing and what he's talking about. I've never had an issue with the staff and I've been worked into the schedule for last-minute vaccinations a couple times when I was down to the wire. I love this vet clinic. It's so cozy and not like the austere hospitalized setting that you experience with most vet clinics. I've been to several vet clinics for treatment on my dog and two cats. I think Dr. Bender is hands down, the best I've been to.

Louisville has several veterinarians, but Dr. Bender is, by far, the best. He has an independent practice, and is thus personally responsible for every client, and more importantly - every patient - his animals. I have brought my dogs and cats to him. He treats them as his own. I am so impressed with his compassion - first of all. But also his knowledge. He keeps up with all the latest treatments. He has kept my companions alive and healthy for me - and for them. He's the best.

I can't even begin to express how disappointed and upset I am with his staff. My cat is 8 years old and absolutely hates the cat carrier and the car. She sheds a ton, and yowls the entire time, that I'm not sure the entire experience is worth the stress it puts on her. After a few years of not going to the vet for this reason (and she was young and healthy), we decided to take her in. It was a snowy day, but I bundled my 1 year old (who also hates the car) and 3 year old into the car, then got the cat. We get to the office and Allie is yowling to high heaven. We wait for a while (it felt like forever but probably was only a minute or so). The receptionist comes to the front. before she can help us, the phone rings, and she takes the call and talks them through the pricing for anesthetics and teeth cleaning under various scenarios, while my cat is meowing loudly and my 3 year old is asking to touch various parts of her cage. Then she finally gets to us, only to tell us the vet is out of town (his dad isn't doing well) and we should of received a call to reschedule. We received no such call. Not cool at all. Our cat is currently hiding under our bed. I'm sure the Dr is wonderful though, and I do feel bad that he has to deal with this on top of his family issues.
