I was so impressed with Branford Veterinary Hospital, so kind and compassionate. I brought my beloved cat,Ceci (chick pea in Italian) who was 161/2 years old suffering from cancer. I had to make the decision that day to euthanize her. Even though you know it s the best decision for your pet, it s so hard to do. I can t thank them enough for their compassion.
My husband and I have taken all our animals to BVH for years. Even when we lived 20 miles away, it was well worth the drive. And when I say all I mean ferrets, cats, dogs, guinea pigs ... they see all living creatures, large and small. Do a lot of work with wild animals, too. Everyone is so caring! Interestingly when people ask who my vet is (I work with a dog rescue so I'm asked a lot) and I say "Branford Vet Hospital" there are always others who chime in saying "Oh yes, me too, they are so great!"
Branford vet is about the only hospital in are area that would see are sick chicken! We had found an abandoned chicken and were taking care of it when we started to notice it was deathly ill. We called up are local dog vet but they didn't see birds and referred us here. They were very nice and helpful! They answered all are questions on the phone and bumped are appointment up so we could rush are poor chicken over there. We soon learned he had mites, upper respiratory infection, and they checked him for parasites! They did a complete run down to find out what exactly was wrong with him. They gave us meds and showed us how to give them to him properly. I will definitely go back anytime my chickens or other animals need a vet visit!
The doctors and staff are just wonderful, my pet rat developed a lump and brought her there and they were able to help her, she might be tiny, but meant a lot to me that they could help her, her cage mate was happy to get her buddy back :)
We turned to Branford Veterinarian Hospital in a moment of crisis--our two hamsters were deathly ill, and other veterinarians could either not squeeze us in or told us to give up on our hamsters--one vet told us to put them down immediately, and on top of that wanted to charge us $700 per hamster to euthanize them! Branford Vet, though they don't normally see hamsters, got us in within the hour and were so kind to our poor hamsters. They gave them an antibiotic, and wouldn't you know our hamsters started gaining weight and strength within a week, and are now back to their regular selves! Branford Vet saved our hamsters' lives. I was so impressed with their caring staff, and I will definitely come back here for my animal care needs. Thank you, Branford Vet Hospital!!!!!
