I would recommend VCA Cromwell to anyone. I have a kitty who went thru I-131 treatment for hyperthyroid, and ended up hypothyroid. I did a lot of research of the latest information on dealing with post I-131 hypothyroid, and Dr Frattini listened to my concerns and questions, and even went the extra step to talk to an animal endocronologist so that he and I were on the same page when it came to Harmony's care. He understands that I am going to do my part to be a well-informed cat owner as well as advocate, and I know he is the one who went to medical school and has the education. Together, we have made a great health care team for Harmony's well-being. The entire staff has been very helpful and friendly. I recommend them in a heart beat, especially if you have a pet with some special needs.

Location - Located in Cromwell just a couple feet away from the post office. Parking lot is a bit small and could be difficult to maneuver if you've got a large vehicle. (-1) Aesthetics - There's an entrance for cats and one for dogs which is nice to keep the two animals apart especially if your cat or dog is stressed. Interior is clean and there's a huge fish tank though it would've been nice if it was down at eye level so the cats can see it. Service/Staff - Staff are friendly and welcoming the minute you walk through the door to when you leave. Check in is simple and the wait was minimal. We brought our cat in and she was handled with lots of care and showered with love too! When you go in, one of the assistants will take your pets vital signs and was super caring and gentle with our cat even when it was time to take her temp. After the vital signs, minimal wait and then entered the vet - Dr. Alexander who by the way looked like she just finished high school but was super sweet with our cat. She was knowledgeable and very proactive looking at all different angles/options toward solving the problem the brought us here. What I also like is that the vet prints out an estimate of your bill that's itemized and does this while you're meeting with her. This is so that you can agree or disagree on whether you want to take advantage of certain services that they're offering or discussing with you at the moment. Not only did Dr. Alexander check our cat for the issue that we brought her in for but she gave her an entire head to tail assessment that was comprehensive and thorough. As a result, we discovered that our cat may require to have her teeth cleaned sometime in the future. Rating - 4/5 - We loved the service here so much that we'll be bringing our dog and our cat, of course, for future check-ups and treatment. It was definitely worth it.

If I could give negative stars I would, I cannot believe this practice, I took my dog to get her checked out and while there they trimmed her toenails and practially cut her foot off! She had to have a bandage for a week and that was six months ago and it hasnt grown out much and she reinjured it so I called to have them look at it again and they expected me to pay for it! I am so disgusted with the treatment and lack of care and concern - They had to amputate her nail. Needless to say I will NEVER be taking any pet back there again.

I agree with the other posts, no really "bad" experience per say, but definitely apparent they're in it for the money. Do not work with u on billing, even if it is an emergency. And they charge much more than others. I now switched after a bad taste in my mouth, and am very happy.
