I like these folks. I had a golden retriever they took care of until she passed away last years at age 12. I have returned with my new puppy and their service continues to be terrific. My only concern is cost. I know it is expensive to have any business in Glastonbury and I'm sure their prices are fair in that regard - it just always seems like more than I expect and friends have told me there are vets not too far away who cost less. I don't see cost as a reason to leave a good service, but I won't give them 5 stars for that reason. Again, really nice folks with much skill and experience - I recommend them.

Dr. Peterson is very nice and competent. A few months ago my dog was diagnosed with congestive heart disease and given 3 months to a year. The problem I have is their desk service. The first time I went to refill his meds I was there for over an hour. So yesterday I called it in a 09:10 and was asked what meds he needed. I don't know what they are you are the vet, you should have it in his record. I showed up at a little after 2:00 to get them so I wouldn't have to wait as long as last time. They weren't filled yet. Why would they be I only gave the 5 hours? The girl at the desk then started to say we need to schedule blood work. I asked to what end since he is dying. The response was we want to see about his kidneys. Not good enough answer. What would that tell us? Can you say pad the bill? I told her I called the meds in because I don't have the time to sit around here. She responded with well sir we have been busy around here. No apology nothing. They then tried to intimidate me by having me sign some scribble saying I declined the blood work. That evening my dog was extremely bloated and acting strange so I called and got the same girl. She couldn't have cared less. No empathy at all. I then put my wife on the line to speak with the doctor as I have no patience for people like her. My wife was told to take him to the emergency room and that they would call the Rocky Hill Emergency Hospital to let them know we were coming. I get to the emergency room with my dog and they haven't called in fact they never called. Unfortunately, my dog's stomach had flipped and I had to make the decision to put him down. This tough decision was hard enough. The people in Rocky Hill were awesome. I can't speak enough about how great they were in this tough time. GVH however will never see another animal from me because of this girl, Alyssa. Customer service doesn't evaporate because you put some scrubs on if anything that should indicate the intelligence to know when it is needed.

We have been very pleased with the treatment our animals have received at GVH. We have a diabetic cat and an anxiety-ridden dog and they've both been doing much better since we began visiting this vet hospital. They are kind & compassionate and make sure that we understand what we need to do to help our pets get/stay healthy. I have no idea why a previous reviewer said they were "cold." I have never received such treatment from anyone there from the doctors to the reception staff.

I am very pleased with this hospital. I rescued a kitten from a nearby shelter and brought him to GVH. It became apparent quickly that my little guy had a rough start. Dr Pampreen, who is the owner, diagnosed my little guy with a high grade heart murmur, multiple parasites and an upper respiratory infection which left him unlikely to thrive. With Dr Pampreen's diligence and lots of follow up appointments my cat Walter is the picture of health! He is free of his heart murmur, parasites and URI. I could not think of a more compassionate hospital to recommend to people!
