Outstanding. The vet here saved my cat's life several times. My first cat had UTI issues and needed major surgery. The vet sewed him back up perfectly and my cat's health has been excellent since. The ER service is wonderful. I showed up there several times in the middle of the night with a very sick kitty. The staff was attentive, kind, and helpful. They offered me the low cost solutions first. I have since moved far from this area so I no longer bring my cats here. For major procedures and emergencies, I highly recommend this vet. However, the record-keeping seems a bit problematic. The staff tried to charge me for a visit I didn't make. Only after they double checked their records did they realize they had sent me a bill for someone else's pet visit. The bill clerk's initial assumption was that the bill was right and I was wrong. I was baffled that they wanted to charge more than $100 for a visit I did not make. This is the only time that happened and I doubt it reflects the typical experience of most clients. That was the only issue I ever had for them. If you get a bill in the mail from them, think twice. Most clients pay the bill in full at the time of service, so you should not be getting vet bills in the mail.
Great emergency vet, saved our pup's life twice and highly recommended! Unfortunately the regular vet missed the ball totally the last time we brought her in and we almost lost her as a result, thank heavens had the foresight to bring her to our old vet for a second opinion.
My dog had a nosebleed on a weekend. We took him there and a very nice nurse greeted us. Our dog was examined by a very pleasant (albeit young) vet who looked at him and sent us home with an rx. for Neosynephrine. He didn't see anything apparent, and told us to watch him. The next day, our dog's nose bled again - this time more profusely. This time we took him to our vet in Plainville. He took one look at him and saw a laceration/puncture on the surface of his nose. Turns out our poor doggie had punctured a blood vessel from playing with a long stick. How could the vet at the Rocky Hill place miss that?? It was as plain as the nose on our dog's face!! We will certainly be far more careful when it comes to allowing our dog to play with sticks - and we will find an alternative emergency facility.
