I'm really shocked and upset with how Waterbury Animal Hospital treated me when I took my dog in to be seen. Ally has horrible allergies, this time of year always brings on some uncomfortable eat infections. This year's was worse than usual, and wouldn't go away with the routine antibiotics or penicillin. This year I also took out a line of credit that worked specifically for dental and vet trips. So this morning I choose one of the veterinarians in network, and confirmed they took took that particular line of credit. They confirmed it with me and I booked the appointment, We went in for 5 and were seen pretty quickly. Ally's ear infection was going to be pricey but I was okay with it because my dog was in pain, and I wanted to make it stop. I gave over my information and credit card, when the receptionist told me she never really used one of "these" before. "These" being the CareCredit card I had called earlier in the morning to confirm they used. The veterinarian went into a back room and said she was warming the medicine to be put in Ally's ear. She cane back to get ally, but was stopped by reception. The staff pretended to "warm up" ally's medicine for close to an hour while they tried to figure out how to use my card. I was even told at one point that they would just charge my debit card, that I had given to them as a second form of identification. I told them no, run the care credit. I was then told that they were having issues with their terminal, or my card, and couldn't figure out what was wrong. I called the CareCredit myself, and got a representative to tell them there was nothing wrong with my card or account, and they would run the transaction for them. The Veterinarian refused to get on the phone with the company. I begged the veterinarian to please treat my dog. Id leave the card with them so when their terminal worked again they could run it. But I had to leave with my dog untreated. I am furious that my dog has to go another night in pain because these morons wasted my time this evening, so every other veterinarian was closed by the time I left. Horrible. Just about the worst experience I've ever had with a vet
I took my cat to Waterbury Vet Hospital and it was actually a really peasant experience. The waiting area was clean and the staff were friendly. I usually take my cat to Banfield, but have been really disappointed with them in most areas- especially customer service. The woman that saw my cat, I think her name was Mary, was very friendly and compassionate. I felt like she really cared about her job and enjoyed doing it- an experience I haven't had with other vet hospitals in the area. The prices were reasonable and overall I would recommend waterbury vet- I'll be going back for sure.
