I took my dog there because she had a swollen eye. Dr. Saleh gave me two tiny bottles of eye drops and an antibiotic to give my dog, and told me to give her the eye drops together every four hours. He then typed the instructions on the receipt. A few days later I ran out of the drops and I called to ask him if she needed more or was she done, because the swelling in her eye had gone down. His wife answered the phone and told me that it was supposed to be a weeks worth of drops. She told me that I was supposed to be giving them to her every SIX hours. When I told her that the Dr. said every FOUR hours, she argued with me. When I went to pick up more drops, he said he needed to check her temp. He then told me that I was supposed to be giving her the drops every SIX hours, then I showed him what he had typed, he disregarded it. He then told me that I not only had to pay for the second set of drops, but also another office visit. He then increased her antibiotic pills, and told me to go out and buy a thermometer, and to take her temp. at home twice a day. So that's what I did. After a few days, my dog wouldn't eat any food because it seemed like every time I fed her, I had to put medication in her food, and she wouldn't eat. So I called Dr. Saleh, and he immediately started yelling at me, telling me that she needed the meds, so I asked for liquid meds, and he told me he needed to see her again, with another office charge.I asked why he needed to see her, and he said to take her temp. I told him that I've been taking her temp twice a day like he asked me to, and he told me that he couldn't rely on that, and he needed to see her again. ARE YOU SERIOUS? I then contacted another vet, and they told me that they could just give her a shot of antibiotics that will last a full week for $65. and I wouldn't have to feed her anything. My dog almost died of starvation and I had already spent over $300 at Angel Animal Hospital. DON'T TAKE YOUR ANIMALS THERE! THE OTHER POSITIVE REVIEWS MUST BE BY PEOPLE HE KNOWS!
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO THIS PLACE, i wish i had seen these reviews before i took my rabbit there. I cancelled an app. with a reputable rabbit vet in Stratford to go them they said they did rabbits. He gave my rabbit amoxicillin which i read later that night is toxic to rabbits they die from it. So 10:00 at night i call the South Wilton Vet Hosp, rush my rabbit to the South Wilton Vet Hospital the best rabbit vet in Conn was on duty that night Dr. Lamb she was GREAT she opened up the place for me she said this is very very bad they can die. she could not believe any vet would give a rabbit amoxicillin $300 later my bunny seems to be doing fine. I called them the next day the wife said no no we give to rabbits i said you could have killed him and we still don't know if he will be ok she said you give me her name i call her she is wrong. I said yeah the best rabbit vet in conn. is wrong. Any problems if you can go to the South Wilton Vet Hosp i HIGHLY recommend them. She opened up the place 10:00 at night just to see me this is how bad it was. Dr. Lamb was great she knew everything about rabbits. I am taking this no good bastard to Small Claims Court my poor rabbit could have died a horrible death if not for the wonderful Dr. Lamb. Hoping he will be ok.
Dr. Saleh is a great Vet. Sure his personality takes a little getting used to, but his compassion for animals is evident. He wants to do what is best for your pet although sometimes it may not be what's best for the owner's ego. If he ever seems curt, it is likely because he understands the animal's condition in a way the owner cannot understand given their emotional attachment. Like others have suggested, he does not over charge and is always available by phone to offer advice. I would recommend Angel Animal hospital to anyone.
Long story short...at Angel Animal Hospital...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
The vet is not the most pleasant man but don't be fooled by your own ego. He is nice he is just to the point. He will not overcharge or even charge if nothing is wrong with your dog. He also doesn't tack on extras like "Kate" wrote. I am positive those shots were necessary. He has done more for my dog than the overpriced chopshop Central Vet in New Haven. Those people robbed me blind and my dog can still barely walk. This vet picks up the phone 24/7 and will dispense free advice over the phone (even home remedies) rather than over charge you. You cannot get this anywhere else. Although, I do not agree with how they keep the dogs outside in certain temperatures they are great at what they do.
