Wonderful veterinary practice. We took our cat here for his check-ups, vaccinations and grooming for years. The staff is knowledgeable and kind, and their services are very affordable. When our buddy was diagnosed with cancer, the doctor was extremely helpful--he thoroughly answered any questions we had, walked us through the various options, and really took the time to help us make the right choices, no matter when we called or how small the issue seemed. Their professionalism and thoughtfulness was unmatched on the day we put him to sleep. I highly recommend them to anyone in the New Haven area. When we're ready for a new furry family member, we will undoubtedly use West Haven Animal Clinic again.
I brought a feral cat that had a cut across his forehead from possibly a raccoon. The staff there said I should have brought the cat to the pound and asked why I brought the cat there. I replied that I had been a customer since 1995 and this was my vet so why wouldn't I bring the cat here? The vet immediately stated the cat needed to be put down and that it may have Feline Hiv, etc. When he finished with me I paid out $350+ and left the cat to be put to sleep. When I returned home I looked up what the vet said the cat had and found that the cat could have lived a quality life with its condition. It took me months to forgive myself. Prior to that incident I brought my male cat to be neutered. He came home with bald spots on top of his head where someone was obviously aggressively holding him, and he smelled like strong urine. One trip I brought my other cat in for routine care and the vet did not take the time to balance the scale. He recorded my cat's weight 3 lbs heavier. I asked him to reweigh her, at first he said it didn't make a difference, but when I told him it made a difference to me he reweighed her and that is how it was discovered the error of 3 lbs. This vet and his office staff appear to be about the business of veterinary care, making the money, but not the quality service of veterinary care which is why I left.
Best vet ever!!!!!!!! My kitten was hurt very bad and I was ready to put her to sleep to end her suffering. They saved her life and gave my son his shadow back. Not being fianaclly stable(which they knew from the begining) they where still able to save her!!!!! God bless them they are truely angels!!!!!
