This is worth your time to read. Bells and whistles of treatments and care of every sort at Calusa, and many in Boca can afford to pay extra for extraordinary treatments that likely can't be found elsewhere. But,, here is where they excel for normal people like me. First, they helped me put my cat to sleep with a minute's notice, afterhours and made the experience as good as it could possibly have been, when other vets turned me away because of no appointment!! Calusa also took care of my significant other's 16+ year old Bichon for many years, and even more close care as she ages.. We over paid a little on grooming, and other treatments over the years, but the quality of care is second to nobody! Now, in kidney failure, the quality and expertise of care is really extraordinary. They taught us how to administer fluids at home, medication on the spot (blood tests delivered within an hour), a PdD nutritionist who is remote, but free,, and really no over treatments or prescriptions, and really quite the contrary.. Dr. Kristen Kline is amazing, but there are more than 10 vets that work there! I believe that if you tell them your financial state, they will help you work within your budget. They never over promised results to us, and tried to keep us with right perspective. We have been surprised with our dog's recovery or at least stabilization. So,,, if you need real medical care and expertise for your beloved pet,, these are the people! If you're on a tight budget, just be sure to tell them as I'm sure they will keep things as reasonable as possible. Bottom line, I'm convinced they can add years to your pet's duration and quality of life.

I have never ever written a review before but this place is such a scam that I felt I had to warn others. I have had pets all my life and know that for a lot of vets it's really just a business. I understand that and can even respect that to a certain degree...I mean that's why people work after all but this office just goes too far. They prey on people who love their animals to make a quick buck. I took two of my dogs there and spent over 5k which I thought was ludicrous but they insisted that my dogs were very very sick and this was absolutely necessary. So of course I did what they said. A few months later my dog was vomiting and I took him back. They said he needed a lot of work done ($2500 worth) because once again he was "very sick". I said enough is enough took him to another vet who charged me $85 and my dog is perfect now. Will never use them again. Beware!

This is the worst money hungry horrible hospital I have ever been to. More crystal chandeliers and artwork most have at home. Turned my wonderful boy away after spending thousands of dollars, mostly on elective things such as underwater treadmill because i could not pay the whole bill due to hard timesafter 10 yrs and being Dx with a tumor on his spleen. Don't come here as there are other, less fancey hospital who really care about your beloved bundles. Here they don't and never will. Owned by South Africans who should go back to where they came from. They should be shut down and are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

Fantastic experience! I recently moved to South Florida and as a result, needed to find a GOOD vet! I definitely wanted a vet that took a holistic approach in their practice and Calusa (Dr. Krawitz) absolutely agrees with my philosophy. My appointment was just a well-being visit, but I was definitely impressed. I will be going to Calusa for ALL of my future vet services.

This is an awesome vet clinic. They were very good with my 14 year old dog, and they were patient in answering every question I had about my dog's health. They go above and beyond!
