Boca Greens Animal Hospital used to be an excellent vet. We have used them for 10+ years, however things rapidly went downhill when they were bought out by a corporation...VCA...I won't even get into the story of one of the Dr.'s sending my cat home with iv fluid to be injected 3x daily only for it to suffer through the night and die the next morning when she would have been humanely put down, but the vet insisted she would be fine. Most recently I brought my 7 year old dog in for a sore under his chin and down his neck. The vet had no idea what to diagnose him with (which ok I get nobody is perfect) the diagnose went your a spider bite to pancreatic, to allergies. The poor dog spend the whole day in the vet with iv fluids and was sent home that night. I just had a bad feeling so I was recommend to another vet by multiple people to get a second opinion. I called VCA at 8:30am and asked them please to fax the records to the new vet. I was told I needed a doctors approval. Now, after spending almost $1,000 I would think those records would be mine to do whatever I wanted with! At 4pm the records still had not been faxed (Again I get it things happen, businesses get busy, but this is a very sick animal!) Needless to say after getting nasty the records were faxed and today my poor dog was rushed into emergency surgery to remove a mass from his stomach at our new vet (Floresta Animal Hospital). Had VCA done the proper tests instead of just pumping him up with fluids and overdosing him on antibiotics and then sending him home, he would have been recovering comfortably at home by now instead of spending the weekend in a vet er and awaiting biopsy results to find out if he has cancer or not. All he needed was a simple x-ray.

I have taken my dogs and cat here for multiple things including: Vaccinations, spay surgery, ear infection, impacted anal gland and hot spot, and poisoning. EVERY time my animals were treated with love, I was comforted by the staff and the problem was solved. My pit bull recovered beautifully after 10 days from her spay and took her pain meds and was great. My shihtzu suffered from an ear infection and was treated recovered in a few days. Another time i brought him in because he had chewed a huge hot spot by his rear which the vet figured out was due to him having an impacted anal gland, they treated both and never had a problem like it again. Another time he had got into something toxic and was vomiting terribly and wouldn't eat, again, got him right in in the morning, the vet comforted me(i was so scared) had him on fluids and took him home the same day. Consistent care and vets are very knowlegable and love animals. THANK YOU for what you do! To me my animals are family.

Last 3 visits we waited for an hour or more even with a scheduled appt time. The last visit I watched some teenage tech use an anal thermometer on my dog and then wipe it off with a dry paper towel and stick it back in the drawer. They took the dog out of the room to clean his infected ear. When he came back there was still 90% of the brown crap still in the ear canal. The vet who used to own the place saw my dog on the previous visit, misdiagnosed Max and then proceeded to sell me $300.00 worth of food and meds. Problem turned out to be a flea allergy taken care of with 1 Comfortis pill recommended by another vet.
