Our Brussels had an ear infection. Called Banfield (where we usually go) and they could not see her for 5 days. Called Dr Malernee and he met us at his place about two hours after we called. Gave our girl a shot as she was also exhibiting signs of an allergy, and he treated her ear infection right away. I don't know what people are talking about with the negative reviews, but after reading them all, there seems to be a theme to the people who gave him one star as they either did not want to pay or wanted a free diagnosis. I found him to be personable and he spent a good deal of time with our dog. I know Banfield would have skinned me for a couple hundred bucks, but he was quite reasonable with the visit, shot and ear ointment for $77. The guy keeps his costs low by being on call. I would definitely go back.
BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! Went to this vet on an emergency last night. First of all the facility is filthy in every way, down to the torn up asphalt and weeds as you pull up. I had an a highly distressed puppy, with extreme breathing problems which wound up to be life threatening. But DR. ART MALERNEE was too worried about getting paid! He spent a considerable amount of time loading up unnecessary information into his computer system while my pet is in critical condition. I was holding a 5.5 week old puppy that was highly distressed and all this man cared about was his payment. He DIDNT bring us into an exam room or do any proper testing on my dog. He looked in his eyes and ears WITH NO TOOLS sitting in a chair in the waiting room!!!!! He recommended me leaving him there overnight with NO diagnoses or recommendation of what he was planning on doing (I'm sure going back to bed was his plan) He basically took my money, looked at my dog and sent me on my way with his business card! I felt worse and more scared of my pets condition after seeing this careless, greedy man!
Weird and just awkward Vet office. Will definitely not be going back.
Dr Malernie took great care of my newly adopted puppy. No unnecessary tests were given knowing the she was just out of the pound with a fever. Very realistic that she would get better on her own with some simple antibiotics and follow up..she is now thriving and healthy! Lucky will go back for a follow up in a month. Prices are realistic for a teacher...and I will be going back soon. And as reading some of these off the wall reviews...These owners must be nuts and over zealous,,,just saying, stay calm and trust that too much is worrisome.
Dr. Malernee has a very no non sense approach to pet care and a great concern for the health of my dog and her environment. Dr. Malernee is a wealth of good information and care practices and has been a pleasure to know and to have care for my dog. Thank you Dr. Malernee, keep up the great work!
