I work in animal rescue and Dr Parra is the most amazing vet I have come across, caring, sweet and truly loves the animals. This place is the reasonably priced. My brother got a quote of $1100 for his dog to get a cist removed and Dr Parra did it for $400. I would never go anywhere else!

Today my family and I had to make the difficult decision to put down our 13 year old lab. It was honestly one of the hardest decisions to have to make.. you feel the need to get every last day with your best friend but know that sometimes it is most fair and in their best interest to be put down. As a family we have never had to make this decision with a dog and the staff from the front desk to all of the Veterinarians were absolutely the most supportive and comforting group of people you could ask for. When we walked in we weren't sure if we could make something else work, if there was one more treatment we could have done to get to spend more time with him, but in the most reasonable and comforting manner the techs examined him and the veterinarian let us understand that he had a great life and his time with us would not be comfortable or much longer for him. You want to feel like he is still the same puppy that could fall over and get right back up again, but with their guidance we understood ourselves that he didn't have it in him anymore. They offered us to leave the room or stay with him through the process, which we chose to do, and throughout the entirety I felt as if they treated our dog as their own, comforting him just as much as we did ourselves. The gentleman at the front desk was very comforting on our way out, as well as the tech who we met once before on his last visit there. It is a very difficult circumstance to loose your pet, and we are all dealing with that feeling right now, wishing he was still here to bark at us for a treat just one last time, but as we have been reminiscing I thought it would be important to write this review while all of the memories of our parting with our dog were fresh and as we praised, among ourselves, the outstanding level of comfort and care provided by everyone here. I hope this will help in anyone reading this reviews decision making process on the proper choice to make in the passing of their own pets and where a great option to go to for any pet care is as well. Best vet in Dunedin... probably in all of pinellas. Staff is great... Hours are great... Free first appointment coupon is great. I couldnt imagin going to any other vet!!!

Great experience. I took my kitten there less than 1/2 hour before closing and they saw him, examined him, x-rayed him, explained what was going on and didn't rush anything at all.

To all pet owners who may be considering this vet, PLEASE READ!!! A dog in our family was taken here to have his nails clipped and to have an x ray done on a mass on his leg. Even though he was older in age, he was in great health. He was taken back into the exam room and we were told we were not allowed to accompany him back. After waiting for a very long time, longer than the procedure should have taken, before a vet tech came to see us. She informed us that everything went well and that our help was needed because the dog was so happy he would not come back out. When we walked back into the room, it was obvious to us that he was in fact unable to move. We demanded to know what had happened to the dog and they told us nothing but lies. They had performed tests that we had not asked for and were completely unnecessary. We were appalled by this, and asked to speak to the person in charge. Another doctor came out and did not even try to explain how something like this could have happened, instead told us they were closing and we needed to take our paralyzed dog and leave. Outraged, we still demanded answers for our injured dog and they proceeded to call the local authorities to remove us from the property. As we loaded our dog into the car to take him to the animal hospital, the manager yelled at us to never come back on the property again. We took him to the animal hospital where we were told he had a spine injury and we ultimately, had to make the terrible decision to put the dog down. This facility was unprofessional, incompetent and incapable people, who deserve at a minimum to be shut down and loose their veterinary licenses. Do not take your pets to be treated by them. Who knows what could happen to pets they treat in the future.
