At this location a doctor did minor surgery on my puppy's face to remove a wart type bump on his lip. The bump just came back weeks later. When we took him to another vet (also a banfield) they explained it was caused by a virus and would definitely go away all on its own but would take a few months. They said it was fairly common and would take a little bit of time but required no actual treatment whatsoever ... forget about doing any cutting on my dog's face. Terrible experience.
Only good for routine vaccinations. A constant turnover in vets (basically a training ground - you very seldom see the same vet twice). Our 8 year old OES almost died in their care. Found out that after 18 months on Banfields preventative care program, none of the vets were reading blood work analysis which indicated critically low blood cell counts over several comprehensive bi-annual exams. When brought to Banfield's attention, they just apologized and recommended an aggressive steroid treatment plan which almost killed our dog. Banfield finally admitted that they could not help our dog, could not explain why she kept deteriorating in health and finally suggested that we take her to a "real" animal hospital (we chose Coral Springs Animal Hospital). After 7 days in ICU and after being completely removed from all the medication that Banfield had recommended, she recovered fully. As a result of the misdiagnosis and treatment at Banfield, our dog developed Diabetes and must now received daily insulin injections. My advice is to "stay clear" of Banfield except for the very rudimentary health care issues that may face your pet!
I like the staff, even it might be a bit expensive I know my Guinea pig (Petunia) will get great care. It is difficult to find a exotic pet care at times, for a nail trim or even a routine check up.
A bunch of rip offs!!! Very unprofessional and all they care about is how to stick you with a huge bill. Also they refer you to a "professional" place for your dog so just it happens that dogs pads get all cut up. Do not use them or any of their "referrals".
My dog was throwing up and had diarrhea, and I immediately took him to Banfield. We'd previously gone to the Sunrise location, and this was our first experience with the Ft Lauderdale office. The staff is very nice and patient, and ran tests to determine what was going on with our pup. A few medications to treat symptoms and help get his appetite back did the trick, and the Banfield staff called several times throughout the week to check up on him and make sure he was improving day by day. Great experience!
