I only live in Fort Lauderdale for a few months of the year, so I used to take Tucker (my rescued dog-son!) to vets back home. Unfortunately, I had to find a vet in Florida when Tucker started throwing up. I made an appointment at Bayview Animal Clinic at the advice of my neighbor, and saw Dr. Smith. Although he did get Tucker's upset tummy fixed, he asked me if I was concerned with Tucker's bad skin and bald spots. OF COURSE I WAS! I had been to my vets back home multiple times trying to fix Tucker's skin and no one seemed to be able to figure it out. Dr. Smith said he thought it was an undiagnosed zinc deficiency and would do a skin test to confirm it. Dr. Smith was right and finally figured out what was wrong. Now Tucker's hair problem is cured! I felt like my concerns had been brushed over by other vets who just wanted to sell me shampoos, but Dr. Smith listened to Tucker and me and didn't just focus on Tucker's upset tummy. In hindsight, I am glad Tucker got a little belly ache because I got to find this great hospital that gave Tucker his hair back! Even though I live in Toronto for most of the year, Bayview is Tucker's new vet hospital!

Great place to take your pets. Dr. Nelson is very familiar with Shar-Pei and is most helpful and honest. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. I recommend Dr. Nelson to all the other people I know who are getting Shar-Pei.

Yes Dr Nelson and Dr Phillips are wonderful. They have seen many rescues for us. They are the best!

This place is great. It's super clean and everyone is very friendly. Their prices are on par if not cheaper than most around here as well. Dr. Nelson is extremely caring and I feel completely comfortable leaving my animals there. He always tells me about upcoming discounts if he knows I need something specific. I'm from the north and I frequently say that my vet is the best doctor I've found down here.

This place is total chaos. I was recommended to go by a friend. I read the prior reviews but I realize they are very old and this place has become so popular they are not focusing on quality care. At least 3 people were working at front desk not focusing on the appointment schedule. They were laughing and talking about personal issues while ignoring phone calls coming in. I made an 10am appointment for my cat. I showed up at 945am. I did not get in til 10;45, meanwhile they allowed puppy breeders full run of the place bringing in crates of sick puppies just bypassing the waiting room. I was told to leave my cat with them and they would call back by 3pm. No one called me so I called at 330pm. I was left on hold for 12 minutes. Finally they told me to pick my cat up at 5pm. After keeping my cat all day he still was not better. I spent over $300 for nothing I will never go back.
