I recently switched from aVCA vet clinic to ICPH when my 2 year old maltese Buddy broke a tooth and had to have it pulled. I was reluctant to go to back to the vet clinic enen though Buddy had been oing there since a pup. A few recent visits to VCA made me question myself- being hurried, wrong patient chart, a different doctor every visit (and never the one I requested and always the one Buddy didn't like!) and not recommending xrays prior to pulling a tooth! The deciding factors were that at ICPH they were 1) Very friendly to both myself, my husband and Buddy. 2) Took ample time to address our concerns of putting Buddy under to pull the tooth and that pulling it was the right choice. 3) The techs addressed my concern about switching vets and arranged for us and Buddy to meet both doctors at the practice, 3) I did not feel like I was being taken advantage of or pressured into treatment. I did get pre-treatment estimates to have Buddy's tooth pulled from both VCA and ICPH. VCA was several hundred dollars less, but the way it was presented unorganized and hurried reassured me Indian Creek Pet Hospital was the better choice! Buddy bounced back from the tooth extraction and we have been back for check ups and they are treating his allergy problem currently. A little something I learned along the way was that those chain "clinics" (of any industry) need to meet monthly quotas each month to stay in business, therefore need high numbers of patient turnovers and upsells of products and services. Private practices have to make money too, but you will find more personal service. Thank You Dr. Shivers, Dr. Stratton, Christine, April and of Bethany!!! When Buddy starts scratching at the car window and barking like crazy and jumps out of the car when we arrive at ICPH and dashes to the front door to go inside, I know we are at the right place!!! S. I made the decision to have my very aged and sick cat euthanized. Dr. Stratton and all of the staff at Indian Creek were very sympathetic and kind. I was given options of keeping her going with much medication etc.. but made the decision willingly to have her put to sleep. I was with my pet during the process and felt that she went peacefully and with dignity to her next life. This was a very hard and painful decision for me to have to make but the staff here made my decision easier and I felt that my pet received the care, respect and kindness that she deserved.
I just took a stray cat in there today and couldn't be more pleased! The staff was very gentle and kind to him. He had numerous cuts and punctures from a fight, but they fixed him right up. Their follow-up instructions were very clear also. Dr Davis was able to explain things in a way in which I understood them. He and the Vet Tech were just awesome! Thank you again Indian Creek for such kind and gentle care of Miso! I feel so lucky that I chose your Hospital out of the many in this area. I will be back! And thanks to Mary at the front desk for keeping me calm during the phone calls!
