Yes, you do have to wait sometimes even with an appt....yes it is not a fancy place...but I feel that the vet is sooooo amazing and the prices are great! The up side of the waiting room....very interesting place LOL....people come from all over to this Veterinarian Office. The staff has been nice too...they are just so busy....I truly recommend them!

My wife has been going here for more than 20 years. Although it can get a little busy in the waiting room, that is because their prices are the best, and they have the utmost integrity. Personally, I would rather save some money, and be with people and doctors I trust. These people are the best!

This is by far the most caring and compassionate Veterinarian office you will EVER find! My pets have been going here for years and I am grateful for the services the staff and doctors provide my pets. The office is always packed, because they are so good. People complain about the wait and all, I have had to wait an hour or more past a scheduled appointment with my own physician many times, it is common. If there is an emergency, people and pets should be taken in the order of severity, and are. To anyone considering Gulfport Veterinarian as their pets Veterinarian, you won't be disappointed in the care and fees, just be considerate to the extremely busy staff and have patience, they are working constantly and have your PETS best interest at heart.

It is what it is. The place is Packed! Parking is difficult to find because...the place is Packed! Long waits, place is a mess, cats on countertops, sitting in corners, fur balls floating under the chairs, However before you cringe: This vet serves a purpose. It is what it is... It offers Low-cost animal care for hundreds of pet owners, that perhaps wouldn't have access to care any other way. It's like the Dairy Queen of the Vet world. They are obviously over-worked, very dedicated to the cause with little time for whiners. It serves a purpose. I've suggested (& accompanied friends - I wait outside) to visit this vet for those that love their pets, but are on a limited budget or for families with multiple animals. It's also really seems to work for cat owners, especially multiple-cat-house owners. It's catty for sure! Having said this: we don't take our animals to Gulfport, because we prefer a less hectic environment, we're allergic to cats!, we prefer to spend time with our vet who has the time & knows our pets individually .

I have been taking my animals to these folks for years. They are the best. It is absolutely true that it seems like they are ignoring you, but there are actually a lot of moving parts back behind the counter. These ladies aren't sleep walking. And when it IS your turn they act as if you are the only patient they have to see all day. I get that and some of the posters on here ought to understand it as well. Yes the building is very dated (this is old Gulfport folks) and it is almost always very crowded ( they are good so people come) and it does not smell like a perfume factory; but the thoroughness of their medical attention -when it is your turn- and the fees they charge make them by far my favorite vet in south St Pete. I have been glad-handed and outrageously overcharged too many times going to other places that have hushed waiting rooms and fish tanks and People magazines and …" Oh…Mr Spruill... Coco needed a three hundred dollar X-ray exam and lets give her this sixty dollar antibiotic just to make sure and we clipped her toenails while we had her back there and dipped her…an extra eighty dollars….thank you thankyouverymuch"
