New to Cooper City and required a new vet for our Siberian Husky. Due to being conveniently located around the corner we decided to take our pup to Veterinary Specialists. We were skeptical due to some of the negative reviews however overall glad we went. Staff was polite and diligent and Dr. Deckelbaum performed a thorough exam and explained everything well. $$ for the new patient exam is less than other vets we experienced and $$ for medication is what is expected from a clinic (around 25% more than online). We would recommend Veterinary Specialist to others.

I am in town visiting my father & his dog started acting lethargic today. I have been in the veterinary field for 14 years so I basically spelled out everything that needed to be done. The vet not knowing my history proceeded to try to scam us out of money and run completely unnecessary tests. I spelled out exactly what we needed and wanted and how it would be better to go step by step instead of testing for everything under the sun. The dog has a 105 temp and still doesn't have any treatment over 3 hours after being brought in. I literally am appalled how the vet Dr Eric Martinez is completely uneducated and can't even read a radiograph! DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS IT IS YOUR LAST OPTION!!!! I'm sure he is upset that I expressed how disappointed I was bc no one likes to be told how to do their job, I just hope he doesn't take it out on my father's dog. He seemed clueless and frazzled and has been ignoring my requests for updates so looks like I'll be on the phone all night or driving back over.

My dog came here back in 2010 when he had a seizure and they took really good care of him. We recently went to a different vet and boy was that a mistake!!! I should have just came make here!!! He had a UTI and we had him neutered but became more ill. Finally after the back and forth with the other vet, they flat out told us, we cant help you any further. I took him here today and they told us exactly what was really wrong and helped us throughly!!!! This place is the best!

The ABSOLUTE worst experience I have ever encountered with an organization that professes to care for animals. Garnering money was clearly the objective of these "veterinary specialists" from my experience and the testimony of many I have spoken with. I believe that if an individual is intelligent enough to get through veterinary school and become licensed he should be intelligent enough to know that if you don't have the compassion for animals that an animal owner/lover should expect in a caregiver, to at least make an effort at faking it. If staff members made some kind of effort to at least pretend to care, the exorbitant prices they charge might be more digestible. I have alerted my friends and encourage anyone who has an animal or knows of anyone who might think of using this facility to STAY CLEAR. There are other centers out there with caring and compassionate staff that are clearly better alternatives. VSSF practices price gauging and animal cruelty by way of not caring for animals until their money has been paid, with an unwillingness to negotiate.
