March 7th: They killed my cat. I went in for a suspected upper respiratory problem, turns out to be allergies. Dr. Wigglesworth prescribed my cat 10 mg amitriptyline for allergies, administer a pill to him twice a day. He was fine for 3 days, very lethargic, but then started throwing up. I've spent thousands of dollars on him running blood work, keeping him at an ER overnight administering IV, and was told he had pancreatitis and a injured liver. When they asked what medicine he was on, and I told them, all the vets were shocked. They told me amitriptyline is something prescribed for depression, anxiety, behavioral problems like over-grooming, and none of the vets ever even heard of it being used for allergies. I was driving to the ER to see him today and proceed with giving him a feeding tube, and they told me on the way he died of a seizure. He was only 4 years old. He was my baby, I am heart-broken. Wigglesworth is a terrible vet, because seeing how overweight he was, he could have had pre-existing liver problems and the medication clearly states to not give an animal that medication if they have liver problems, yet he still gave it to him without even considering thinking through his tiny brain that, "Oh, this cat is overweight. Maybe I shouldn't give him something that warns to not use it on animals with diabetes or liver problems". Please don't trust these people, I made the mistake of doing that and I am now alone with a loss of a companion. UPDATE (March 8th): I visited "Dr". Wigglesworth this morning and told him what happened, and that multiple vets told me Ewok's medication was wrongfully prescribed and that it triggered his issues with his liver/pancreas. He was completely disrespectful, made sarcastic comments about me not knowing what I was talking about, and that what he prescribed was normal when I've spoken to multiple vets simply asking, "What do you think of a cat with allergies being prescribed amitriptyline?" to keep their opinion as unbiased as possible. Each vet I've spoken to said it was odd and not what they would prescribe. I'm trying to get in touch with Joe Fuller to ask him the same question, receive his answer, and inform him of what kind of "veterinarian" he allowed to take over his business. After our discussion about Ewok today, I said to him, "I just wanted to let you know..." with tears in my eyes and he had the audacity to say to me, "I appreciate it, thanks."... He is an absolutely disgusting human-being and completely lacks any remorse with his faulty practices. It's unfortunate that even the people who probably graduated at the lowest end of their class in veterinarian school are still allowed to have their own private practice. Wigglesworth is a joke-of-a-vet and deserves to get his license revoked.
My family had been a customer of Dr. Fuller for 10 years before the transition to Dr. Wigglesworth. I had reservations but decided to trust. Every groomer in the area cautioned me against the practice stating over pricing and lack of compassion for the animal or owner. I still decided to trust. Today that changed...Rachel, greeted me at 0800 by letting me know the drop-off policy was 0830-0900, didn't tell me she was working the processing, and then sat there while I waited with my nervous pet about to be operated on. I asked her again if we were going to get in before 0830 and she reminded me of the policy again and said she was going to get me in early when the attendant came in. Her attitude was very rude. I said if it is a big deal we can leave and she said "she didn't care" and shrugged her shoulders. She said she told us on the call ahead the day previously about the policy and I said, unfortunately, I was placed on hold immediately but told them there was no need as I was confirming the appointment. Again she told me that she was the one I spoke with and YES she did say the policy. In the end, who cares about the policy!!!! Is it that big of a deal to put an animal in a kennel 20 minutes early. Do I want someone operating on my pet that has this kind of help??? After 4 animals and 10 years, we will seek a new practice and warn others as we were warned but didn't listen. Where there is smoke there is fire!
Avoid this place. We had a terrible experience with them. Firstly, the doctor was rude and dismissive. Secondly, they charged double what they quoted for a grooming and bloodwork without justifiable explanation. They clipped half our cat's whiskers, again without explanation or apology. They also decided to do a more expensive and unnecessary procedure without consulting the family first. Then they charged an extortionists fee. Avoid avoid avoid. Your pets deserve better.
My cat got his tail caught in the door and had about an inch of his tail ripped off. My cat had to have his tail amputated, and no other vet would see him. I called and this vet told me to come in immediately, did the procedure with excellence, checked him over, gave me all the meds, instructions, and even a cat carrier to take home, (which is to be returned at a later date) everyone there was very friendly, caring and more than helpful. Best place I have ever been. I will never take any of my animals elsewhere. he now has a client for life. I would not recommend going anywhere else. This is the place to go, they practice the caring method of animal wellness. Thank you again doctor.
It's unfortunate that such a great doctor (Dr. Fuller) turned his practice over to a very poor doctor (Wigglesworth). We took our cat for her annual visit, and he was so rough and aggressive with the way he handled her. I was furious as I watched him with my cat and she continued to get more and more upset. Finally she swatted at him and he threw his hands in the air saying, "This is too dangerous. Someone's going to get hurt. We're done here." So he literally did not even finish the exam. The man was seriously afraid of my cat. Shouldn't a veterinarian know how to handle a cat, even after they've upsetted them? At that point we changed doctors. Before then, we had no trouble with vet visits. Now, she gets so upset that they have to gas her just to be able to touch her. Do not go to this office until they get another doctor.
